Jeremy hated how distracted Dari could be around test time. OWLs had been the same way but he was keeping a much closer watch on her this time around. She wouldn't study herself into the Hospital Wing for NEWTs... he'd be sure of that.

Which was exactly why he had her outside. She needed a break. He'd let her get back to her studies soon enough but she was going to relax for a bit first.

At the moment, Jeremy Pitt was quite content.

Until... the question...

"I don't know," he answered honestly. "I've not given it much thought."

Well, he had but there weren't any great plans in his future... not job... just her, really.

Dari knew he was concerned after fifth year, which was, honestly, why she was so willing to take a break when he'd pouted just a little and asked so nicely. She didn't want him to worry and, besides, spending time with Jeremy was always a welcome thing.

"Oh.." She wasn't exactly surprised, because Jeremy had never really been the plan-for-the-future type, but she had to admit it would have been nice if he had thought about it. It was all she thought about lately.. what she'd be doing, how he factored into things. Jeremy had always been a big part of her life and that was magnified now, since they'd been dating.

"It's getting so close now," she mused quietly, trying to ignore the voice in her head that kept trying to suggested things were going to change for them after school, because that was just ridiculous to think. "I can't believe it's almost over."

She was going to miss this place -and the people in it- far more than she cared to admit.

Questions about the future always made Jeremy slightly uncomfortable. He didn't have any plans... questions made him feel as if he should have plans. He didn't want plans.

"It is," he agreed easily, his fingers still playing in her hair.

"You'll be working a lot when you get the job in the Unspeakables office, yeah?"

It wasn't an 'if' for Jeremy... it was a 'when'. Dari would get that job - he just knew it!

"If I get it," she corrected, because she wasn't nearly as confident as he seemed to be in that. She loved him for having such faith in her, of course, but she wasn't so sure she was good enough to get the job. Even though she really, really wanted it.

"I'll come by after, though, as much as you want," she offered, closing her eyes briefly, because his fingers felt so good in her hair. "Mmmm, that's nice," she murmured distractedly, nuzzling into him a little bit.

Jeremy was very confident and he ignored her correction... it was only a matter of time before she got an owl telling her that she'd gotten the job - he was sure of it.

A loving smile crossed his features when murmured happily in his lap. Merlin, she was beautiful. God, he loved her so much.

"If that's the case," he told her softly, pausing to lean in and press a kiss to her forehead, "I may never want you to leave."

Dari was happy. This break with him? Was just what she'd needed, even if she wouldn't have done it without his prodding. It just went to show that Jeremy always knew what she needed, even when she didn't.

"Oh, but I've got to, don't I?" she mumbled back. "I've got to go home sometime." She smiled and leaned into him a bit more. This? Was relaxing. And wonderful. There was little she liked better than just relaxing against Jeremy like this.

Her next question made him tense a bit.

"Well," he began, forcing her to sit up with his uncomfortable/nervous shifting, "I've been thinking..."

He had to pause there to study her a bit before he finally continued with what he was saying. Just two weeks ago, he'd been certain that she'd say yes but now that he was faced with actually asking her, his palms were sweaty.

"I've been thinking," he started again. "It'll really be a waste for both of us to have an apartment. I mean, I'll always be at your place or you'll always be at mine. We should just get one and share it..."

Well, that couldn't sound more like a roommate proposal...

Apparently, Jeremy fails when under pressure.

Dari was confused by the shifting and the lok he was giving her, but she tried to wait patiently for him to explain.

"Oh.. er.. you mean like flatmates?" she asked, pondering the idea. That did seem to make sense, she supposed, and she wasn't really opposed to the idea. She just wanted to be sure she understood what he was asking.

At her suggestion of flatmates, Jeremy gave her a look that clearly stated that was not what he was talking about. "Um... no... like... you're my girlfriend and I'd like it if you'd live with me so I don't have to miss you so damned much."

When he realized that he'd possibly just suggested that in the least romantic way ever, he gave her a bit of an uncomfortable smile. "I want you to live with me, Dari," he tried again. "I don't think I can get used to an empty bed again."

Maybe he should just be quiet now...

"Ohhhh." Well that was better. Dari's face broke into a large smile when he explained, because that? That was really sweet, actually. Maybe he didn't think it sounded romantic, but she thought it was plenty so.

And after a pause in which she was inwardly flailing about giddy him wanting her to live with him made her, she realized she should probably actually answer him.

"I'd love to.. I'd love to live with you, Jer," she told him, giving him a look that should have conveyed just how much she loved him just for asking.

Jeremy watched as she grinned and he thought that had to be an good thing - or, you know, it was a bad thing and she was just amused that he'd even thought of something so stupid.

He waited patiently for... something... and there was only that smile. Which, yes, Dari had a bloody beautiful smile but he wanted something a little more on the vocal side at the moment.

Just when he was about to give in and ask her what the hell the grin meant, she answered. In response, a rather large grin grew on his face and he pulled her into a brief kiss.

"Brilliant," he decided before kissing her again.

Dari smiled against his lips - a completely blissful, top of the world kind of smile. The more she thought about it, the more she loved the idea. It just felt right to live with him, to have a place that was theirs.

"I can hardly wait," she agreed against his lips between kisses.

It was nice, after the past month or so. It was nice to have something to celebrate and be happy about for once, after everything had been so bad.

Though Jeremy hadn't been nearly as affected by the past month, he was rather happy at the moment. Dari had agreed to live with him. He no longer had to worry about barely seeing her because of work and things of that nature.

His future was pretty much set now. It wasn't like he had any other major plans to work on.

When they pulled apart again, he flashed her another smile. "We'll go shopping as soon as your back from your summer trip with Tris, yeah?"

Now, that was something he wasn't exactly looking forward to but he'd worked hard to keep that from Dari. If she wanted to run off with Tris for a while, he'd be the supportive boyfriend... not the whiny ponce who begged her to stay with him.

In all honestly? This was the future Dari cared about.. being with Jeremy. Yes, she wanted the Unspeakables gig, but Jer was what was most important to her. She couldn't be happier, knowing they were going to live together, like a real couple.

She nodded and curled back into him, ready to get back to the relaxing now that their plans were set. She'd been promised a good cuddle for her break, after all.

"Alright," she mumbled, smiling as she snuggled against him.

Truthfully, she was looking forward to her vacation with Tris, but she also knew she was going to miss Jeremy a lot while she was gone. Knowing they'd be looking for a place as soon as she got back helped to assure her, too. A part of her was insanely afraid he'd forget about her after she was gone a few weeks.

Jeremy grinned as they found their previous position and his fingers tangled in her hair again. Stroking gently through her soft locks, he grinned and closed his eyes.

"How much longer before you have to go back to your studies?" he questioned after a moment.

He knew that she would have to go back to the library before too long but it felt rather good to have her close for now.

Maybe he'd talk her into sleeping in his dorm tonight...

"Awhile?" she answered, the word coming out as more of a question. She knew she really should get back to it, but this was so nice that she really didn't want to leave anytime soon.

She closed his eyes and sighed happily at the feel of his fingers in her hair. Merlin, would that ever stop being so wonderfully relaxing? She could almost fall asleep right here when he did that.
