We open in a police van. Dinah is telling a small group of cops that they are the only ones she trusts not to be dirty. We shall call them red shirts. They are going to arrest Anatoly. The OTA is also covering the attack. They work in tandem. Dinah successfully arrests Anatoly.
At SCPD, Dinah brings in the arrests. Ollie and Quentin show up as well. Hill congratulates them on their good work. Ollie thanks Dinah for including them. They dissolve into bickering. Ollie goes to see Anatoly. Anatoly tells him that Diaz has people everywhere in the government. Why is he helping them? The DA lets Anatoly and his people go. They realize that the DA is with Diaz.
At the Arrow Cave, Ollie relays this information to Felicity and Diggle. Diggle wants to take over again. Ollie says no. Diggle helped build this team. It shouldn't matter what someone in the team is wearing. It's a point that's been made a lot online. Diggle thankfully agrees.
Diaz finds one of the good cops named Martin Hurst. Anatoly kills him. Bye Red Shirt.
At the Arrow Cave, Ollie decides to have Dinah hide the other good cops. Felicity encourages Ollie to make up with Diggle. Why is this necessary right now, all of a sudden?
At the NTA, Curtis goes to help Dinah hide the cops. He mostly does it for his man, Nick.
At A.R.G.U.S., Lyla gives Diggle the info on Vertigo. Diggle talks with Lyla. Lyla wants to get to the root of his anger. Diggle doesn't know. Lyla would be a good therapist if this A.R.G.U.S. thing doesn't work out. Those of you who watch “Legends of Tomorrow” knows it doesn't.
At City Hall, Ollie meets with the DA and Hill. He confronts them about working with Diaz. Immediately after getting promoted, Diaz sent Hill an email threatening her family. The DA needed Diaz to pay for his son's cancer treatments. Ollie offers to protect them. They point out that all of SCPD is on the take and the city is bankrupt. Even the Green Arrow can't help them and they know he is the Gren Arrow. Why doesn't Ollie expose them like they exposed him?
Laurel is bored at home. She tries to get info on Diaz for Diaz. Instead, Quentin gives him Laurel's old law books to read. He points out that she can have any job now with Laurel's resume. Well, that's helpful. For Diaz. Also, how does she understand legal books without law school?
At the Arrow Cave, Ollie tells Diggle that he meant it when he asked him to take over. He says being the Green Arrow is part of him and he can't let go now. He's sorry he avoided the conversation. Ollie and Diggle agree to go into the field. Well, that was easy.
In an apartment, Spartan and Green Arrow burst in. They knock out guards. They interrogate a Vertigo shipper. Spartan and Green Arrow disagree on how to handle things. Spartan finally gets the dealer to start to talk when he is killed his own girlfriend. Spartan knocks her out. Somehow, Felicity is not in on any of this?
At the Arrow Cave, the fight continues about whose fault this is. Felicity tries and calms them down. Ollie doesn't know why they are fighting when they already made up. Diggle is mad because he doesn't like Ollie being the boss of him. All of a sudden?
At Laurel's place, Diaz brought Laurel dinner. She doesn't want him to hurt Quentin. Diaz isn't about that. He says he understands Laurel and likes her the way she is. So, he came over to fuck her, then?
At A.R.G.U.S., Lyla reveals she knows Diggle helped CJ by breaking into A.R.G.U.S.. Diggle apologizes. Lyla forgives him. #couplegoals. Diggle reveals that Ollie apologized and he doesn't know why he's still upset at him. Lyla knows things are hard lately. She thinks maybe Diggle is upset because he wants to be in charge and doesn't like Ollie's leadership.
At the Arrow Cave, Diggle goes to talk to Ollie. Diggle thinks Ollie needs to be the Green Arrow more than he wants to keep people safe. Ollie disagrees. Diggle says that being married, having a child and being mayor is too much for Ollie. Other than being mayor, Diggle has all of those things. He used to have a job on top of everything else too. Just saying. He knows Ollie is a better man but not the hero that the city needs when he's so distracted. Diggle blames Ollie for all the problems that are happening now. Ollie points out that a lot of these problems developed under Diggle's leadership. He also mentions that Diggle was with him for a lot of these decisions. Diggle wanted to go another way. As others have pointed out, many times Diggle came around and didn't side with the others even when asked so... Diggle says it's Ollie's fault Samantha died. Because Diggle wanted to be the Green Arrow then? Ollie says that at least didn't kill his own sibling. They begin physically fighting and tearing apart the Arrow Cave. Felicity stops them. They apologize to each other. Diggle knows how hard this is on Ollie. They agree to go into the field.
At the safehouse, Nick doesn't like vigilantes. Curtis tells Dinah about it. He thinks he will either going to get dumped or arrested. Dinah thinks he should enjoy himself while he can. It turns out one of the cops decided to betray them to Diaz to save his own life. What makes you think he won't kill you too, bro? Anyway, he shoots at Dinah but Curtis dives in front of the bullet. Nick keeps an eye on him. He opens his jacket and discovers that Curtis is Mr. Terrific. Dinah uses her canary cry to discretely (I mean, I'm sure everyone has questions) open up a wall for everyone to escape. The police have a fire fight but escape.
At the Vertigo factory, Spartan agrees to follow Green Arrow's lead. The Green Arrow unleashes a spiral arrow that releases bullets. They manage to get everyone out of there and blow up the facility. Diggle has angst because, of course.
At the Arrow Cave, Diggle apologizes again but means what he said about Ollie being a bad leader. As others have pointed out, Diggle spent the whole series trying to get Ollie to be a better man and is now unhappy with the result. Diggle says he has to be the best version of himself and that means leaving. Ollie wishes him luck. Felicity asks him not to go. He leaves.
At Rene's place, Dinah helps Curtis straighten up. Curtis is glad he came clean. Even though he might get arrested? Nick shows up. He tells Dinah that all the clean cops got fired; Dinah included. Nick thinks it's possible that vigilantes are the only solution now that the city is corrupt. He wants to keep seeing Curtis. Also, Hill managed to fire all the clean cops on the way out and people wondered if it was possible to fire people when you are also fired? Seems unlikely.
At A.R.G.U.S., Diggle doesn't know his next move. Lyla asks him to work with her. That's been a source of a lot of their past problems but I'm just so happy that Lyla is back (but yeah, this will end badly).
At Ollie's place, Quentin tells Ollie to turn on the TV. The DA and Hill hold a press conference. They want Ollie impeached for obstruction of justice. How did he not see this coming?
At Laurel's place, she meets up with Diaz again. It turns out it was her idea to get the Green Arrow on obstruction of justice charges. She got to the relevant portion of those law books that quickly and was able to understand them? Fine. Diaz reveals one last vial of Vertigo. He has plans for it. Ollie, I'm assuming?
