My "Arrow" 6x14-6x15 Recap

How did I not post this already?

I've been busy the last two Thursdays and haven't been able to do both my recaps. Instead I'll do short summaries.

First up, it's Green Arrow: Civil War. Oliver needs to find the 70 million dollars stolen by CJ so that the city can keep on functioning. He has two days. Security footage reveals it was BS Laurel. I thought this was going to be another fake video by Diaz but this would make too much sense. The city gave ransom money to CJ while the entire city was on lockdown. Laurel was kidnapped before CJ was even arrested. Somehow she stole all the money from him by leaving the country? WHEN? Ugh. Anyway, she is still kidnapped but Quentin claims she is free to go. Thea tracks Quentin and reports back to Oliver. The OTA and NTA take turns spying on each other. The OTA strikes a deal with Laurel. If they let her get out of town with Quentin, she will return the money to the city. The NTA hacks and injures Diggle's arm to track their location. It works. The OTA and NTA face off. Like I said, Curtis hurt Diggle's arm. Wild Dog accidentally hurt Felicity. BC Dinah hurt Quentin. The Green Arrow beats Wild Dog within an inch of his life. Curtis convinces Dinah to give Laurel mercy and she escapes. Well, that was super productive!

Elsewhere, Laurel limps to civilization and declares herself kidnapped Earth 1 Laurel Lance. It reaches the press. Not a bad plan actually.

The corrupt cops and DA continue to conspire. The police chief tells Ollie they can do a police auction that will make the city 30 million dollars and thus repay some debts. She only does this after Ollie says he can't do shit on live TV. Anyway, the DA says that Roy Harper is the new witness against Ollie which is a thing everyone accepts even though everyone is supposed to think he's dead. Diaz's corrupt cops have him and are torturing him.

A great point someone made is that at no point does anyone ever assume that Roy actually betrayed them which says a lot about earned trust. One thing I like about the civil war episode is that it finally forced the groups to cut ties socially instead of just during their nightly activities. It's like “I hate you and can't trust you! But I'll see you at work on Monday!”

Thea becomes Speedy again to rescue Roy. Laurel goes to Team Arrow and offers to tell them where Roy is. She will also keep Ollie's secret. Her price is that she wants to stay in Earth 1 Laurel's life and for Dinah not to kill her. They rescue Roy who somehow manages to bang Thea despite bleeding internally. This was all part of the Dragon's plan to have Laurel win over the team. It appears to work on all sides.

Some loose hanging threads: Wild Dog's daughter finally learns what happened to her dad. It will also keep him from testifying against Ollie. Roy also will not be testifying against Ollie. Diaz is the one who has the 70 million dollars now because sure. Anatoly is still with him because he hates Ollie and has nowhere else to be, I guess. Diggle had him cornered at one point and we never found out what happened there. Lastly, it seems the LOA is returning and they want Thea as their leader. Yay Nyssa!
