My "Arrow" 6x09 Recap
At a hall, there's a wedding reception for Olicity. Thea is looking after William. Diggle shows up and wishes Ollie well. Felicity somehow enters with both her parents even though one of them is a supervillain and Ollie is being investigated by the FBI. Donna hugs Ollie and rants about being left out of the wedding. Olicity kisses. All of Team Arrow is there including Quentin. Their neighbors from Ivy Town are there as well. Dinah leaves to take a call from Vince but mentions she's had a bunch of broken engagements. Perhaps we'll see that episode soon. Quentin gives Ollie a watch that Quentin's father gave him on his wedding day. I guess Quentin figured Sara would end up married to a lady? When Felicity throws the bouquet, Curtis grabs it out of Donna's hands. Curtis gives a drunken talk shaming marriage. Rene interrupts. He talks about his wedding day and how happy and strong Olicity are. Oliicity dance to “At Last.” WildQueen dance together and reference Roy and that assassin DJ Thea dated that time. Donna dances with Noah. Quentin interrupts. He and Donna begin to dance when Quentin immediately gets a call from Ollie's lawyer. He pulls Ollie aside. It turns out someone from Team Arrow is willing to testify that Ollie is the Arrow.
At the Arrow Cave, Olicity tells Diggle about the leak. Felicity has started surveilling the team. Ollie says they have to find out who the leak is before they target someone else. They bring up Evelyn a lot this episode but never actually to Evelyn.
Rene brings a drunk Curtis to his house. Curtis talks about how Team Arrow ruined his marriage and passes out. As others have pointed out, Curtis chose the team over his husband so there's that.
In an alley, Dinah meets with Vincent. Dinah can't forgive Vince for the innocent people he's killed in his crusade. Vince says Team Arrow has done the same. Dinah says it's not like that anymore. Vince wants to make it work. Dinah tells him to leave town and not contact her ever again. It's a weird back and forth with these two.
Quentin walks Thea home to make sure she's safe. Black Siren is there waiting for Quentin. Somehow it takes until they are standing right in front of Black Siren to realize this. Thea tries to defend Quentin. Black Siren knocks them both out and takes Quentin by herself. She strong.
At the Arrow Cave, they have video of Dinah meeting with Vince but not the audio. Diggle thinks there has to be a reason but Ollie disagrees. Thea shows up with a phone Black Siren left in her hand. Cayden James calls. I've noticed people calling him CJ so I'll do that now. CJ will kill Quentin if they don't steal an amplifier from A.R.G.U.S.. They can't recreate a copy so they have to steal it. Dinah is not allowed on the mission until they figure out what she's hiding.
At A.R.G.U.S., the team breaks in. They manage to steal the amplifier. Curtis spends basically the whole episode hung over.
At the Arrow Cave, Ollie plans to sabotage the device so that it won't work for CJ. Dinah arrives and sees they are back from a mission. Ollie accuses Dinah of being a traitor. Dinah asks if Diggle agrees. He apologizes but yes. He leaves out that he was defending her up until seeing her with Vince because that would be too helpful, I guess. Dinah does nothing to defend herself but she's pretty betrayed. It becomes a newbies vs. originals thing until Rene confesses that he's the witness. Watson told Rene that she had proof that he was Wild Dog. She was going to arrest Ollie either way and Rene didn't want to go to prison with Ollie. Ollie tells him to get out. Also, wasn't this whole thing because Watson didn't have a case? Did she just bluff Wild Dog into a confession? They never talk about this.
In a building, Quentin talks with Black Siren. Earth 2 Quentin was killed on Black Siren's birthday. Quentin says they have the same traditions. CJ reminds Black Siren to kill Quentin. That means when Quentin is freed later, it could be all part of a ruse to make Quentin trust Black Siren.
At a food truck, Curtis, Dinah and Rene meet up. Rene admits he screwed up. Dinah is not cool with the spying. Again, she never explained what she was doing with one of their enemies who tried to kill Ollie.
At the Arrow Cave, Thea meets with Ollie. Ollie feels bad for judging Rene when he has done similar actions. Thea points out that Ollie never sold anyone else out. She thinks that Ollie should forgive Rene since he is empathizing with him. She says Quentin needs the whole team, including Rene. Ollie relents and agrees to call in the whole team. When can Thea rejoin this team?
In a warehouse, Team Arrow meets up. Their main mission is to save Quentin but if they can arrest CJ they will. The Green Arrow meets with CJ. CJ agrees to let Green Arrow talk to Quentin when he puts the bow down. They talk. CJ reveals he knows that the amplifier has been sabotaged. He instructs Black Siren to kill Quentin. BC Dinah and Green Arrow fight CJ and his men. Wild Dog and Curtis go to rescue Quentin. Quentin escapes with Black Siren. She lets him go and flees when Team Arrow arrives.
At the Arrow Cave, they talk about how CJ and Black Siren got away. Ollie confronts Rene about not listening to his orders on the mission. Rene says it worked out since they saved Quentin but since Black Siren let him go, Rene's actions really had no role in that. Ollie says Rene blew his second chance and needs to leave the team. Dinah says she no longer trusts the team. She leaves. Curtis leaves the team as well but is going to stay in business with Felicity. That's awkward. Ollie wants to find out how James is spying on them. Let's just say here, Curtis didn't like the spying but did the exact same thing to Felicity last season. Dinah didn't like the spying but was secretly meeting with a villain. Rene didn't like the spying but he actually betrayed the team. Also, Evelyn betrayed the whole team already so the trust here is very shaky. I don't think they really have a leg to stand on.
Dinah meets with Vince. She doesn't say what happened. She just says she wants a friend. He's cool with it which should be an immediate tip that he's lying.
Rene brings Zoey home. He promises not to let anyone split them up anymore. Famous last words.
It turns out James has a camera in the Arrow Cave. I'm surprised the team doesn't do a monthly sweep for that kind of thing. The Arrow Cave gets raided so often. Anatoly, Vigilante, CJ, Black Siren and The Dragon are on a team together. They are taking Team Arrow apart so they can take over. Also, Vigilante is with the bad guys now? Fine. Whatever.
