We got a lot of familiar faces for the series finale. Stefan sacrificed himself to save Damon but they reunited in the afterlife. Damon and Elena lived out their human lives together. Katherine got killed by Stefan. The others opened up a school. Since I didn't see Stefan seeing Elena and Lexi in the afterlife coming, that is what got to me the most. It was just nice to see everyone again.
