Roy, Arrow and Diggle go on a mission to stop a cartel pedaling drugs. When they get there, all the cartel members are already dead. Someone wrote “guilty” in blood next to their bodies. Some problems do solve themselves.
Arrow and Diggle go to investigate a rival cartel. Roy wants to come along but can't because he's sleepy. Has no one heard of sleeping pills?
Back in Hong Kong, Ollie and his captor are tracking a delivery man that works for China White. Ollie chases him through a few alleys before the delivery man is hit by a car. The intel he was carrying is gone. He stashed it somewhere while Ollie was chasing him and they just have to find it. Spoiler alert: they find it. But we all already know that.
At the gym, Ted tells Laurel to learn to deal with surprises and get up when knocked down. Then he takes her for Korean tacos. His teaching is really efficient.
At the lair, Roy asks Felicity to test his blood for mirakuru. Felicity thinks it's a massive overreaction to not sleeping and asks him directly if he's having any other side effects. He says no. She tests his blood and he is negative for mirakuru. He finally admits he was having dreams of killing Sara. Felicity says it's cool and he's so relieved he doesn't pay attention to what a bad liar she is. Seriously, improve your lying, girl. You live a double life.
At Wildcat Gym, Arrow finds another dead body that says “guilty.” Ted walks in. Arrow accuses him of murder. Laurel explains she is Ted's alibi. The police come after Arrow leaves. Laurel tells her dad that Ted is her trainer and she knows he is innocent. She was right about Sebastian Blood when she was dating him so maybe Quentin should take her word here?
Laurel meets Ollie outside and tells him the same thing. She accuses him of still wanting her. He's mad that she went to get training when he refused to train her. Here's the thing: Ollie repeatedly threw it in Laurel's face that she didn't have training but also that he wouldn't train her. So, she stopped bugging him about it and got help elsewhere. What's the problem? Side Note: Cupid a.k.a. Carrie Cutter appears in this scene. Given her name is a combination of the title character in a prom horror movie and an act of self-harm, you kind of get a sense of her comic book character. She's a killer obsessed with Arrow after going through a mirakuru adjacent program. Will this come into play later?
Back in Hong Kong, Ollie plays with the son of his captor. Captor's wife forbids it. Captor explains that once they catch China White, his debt is paid. I'm assuming that means Waller will let him go home. She agrees to help Ollie get his memory back even though she hates him for no reason. Why does she hate him? Seriously?
At the lair, Diggle explains Ted used to be a pro-fighter. Ollie thinks he is the killer and put a tracker on him. He does not trust Laurel's ironclad alibi. It's very hard to fault Ollie for not trusting her judgment. She's lucid so irregularly.
At Ted's lair, there is another dead body. Ted fights the Arrow. He tells him that he was a vigilante in the Glades six years ago until one day he beat a drug dealer to death. That was the day he quit being a vigilante. He wants to help Team Arrow find the truth. Interestingly, he did not become a famous vigilante because he only protected the poor people of the Glades. That's a nice class note. Side Note: In this scene, Arrow uses a boxing glove arrow from stuff Ted had lying around. A boxing glove arrow is something from the comics.
Laurel meets up with the guys. Arrow tells her about Ted being a vigilante who killed someone. Laurel tells Ted that she used to date the Arrow. A lot of people had a problem with that. I feel like Ted could have inferred she was just dating the Arrow because she was a hot superhero. Everyone else feels like Ted will just assume Arrow is her one living ex. Also, fair. Arrow tells Laurel that he won't work with her because the reality of this hasn't hit her yet. She gives them a file about the body in Ted's lair. It was a magician who worked at the place of the drug dealer that Ted killed.
At the lair, Felicity sends Diggle to go fight the killer while she stays and talks to Roy. She explains that after looking at the autopsy again, it seems likely that whoever killed Sara was a short person hopped up on Mirakuru and throwing arrows into her. What an odd fact to find out now. I feel like she would have accused Slade immediately. Is he too tall?
At the club, a vigilante starts shooting at Ted and Arrow. Arrow chases him but he manages to get away. The police arrest Ted for the murders. Even though he has an alibi from a DA?
At the lair, Laurel accuses Ollie of having Ted arrested. Ollie says he knows Ted is innocent now. Roy confesses to the team that he killed Sara. He apologizes and says it was the Mirakuru. He leaves. Ollie tells Laurel that they will handle this later and she has to save Ted right now. She agrees and leaves. Felicity says the DNA evidence was inconclusive but Roy's description of the crime matches up with what happened. He also didn't have trouble sleeping until Sara's murder. Could it be because is mourning one of his only friends??? Think Felicity.
Back in Hong Kong, Captor's wife teaches Ollie to meditate. He remembers where the delivery man hid China White's message. All this scene establishes is meditation which Ollie could have frankly used before this point.
Laurel visits Ted in jail. Quentin mocks her taste in men. Fair enough. Weird of him to say, though? Ted admits the vigilante is Isaac Stanzler. He was the Roy to Ted's Arrow. Six years ago, it was Isaac who killed the drug dealer. Ted quit right then and kicked Isaac out of town. Isaac came back to do more murders. Ted feels this is all his fault.
At the lair, Felicity tells Ollie that Ted has been released. Diggle tells Ollie that Roy needs to be brought in and cut loose. Kind of a hard stance on a mirakuru murder, especially since Ollie also killed so many people and Diggle didn't cut him loose.
Laurel and Ted leave the jail together when Isaac pulls a gun on them. Kind of a brave thing to do right out of jail. By brave I mean, stupid. He explains when Ted cut him loose, the cartel captured him and tortured him for months. He takes them hostage and makes Laurel drive them away. Laurel immediately calls up Felicity. Diggle, Arrow and Roy chase the car. Together they provide enough distraction for Laurel to knock Isaac out of the car and crash. Diggle and Arrow save Laurel and Ted. Roy knocks out Isaac who calls him a weapon in Arrow's “arsenal.” Ha. Arrow promises never to abandon Roy.
At Wildcat Gym, Arrow asks Ted to stop training Laurel. Ted stays he will only stop when that is what Laurel wants. He warns Arrow not to wait too long before getting rid of Roy. Arrow says the mistake would be losing faith in Roy. Ollie has been a dick to Ted all episode because he is very upset about Laurel feelings. Also, he gave Ted so much crap this episode for killing one person as a vigilante when he killed a ton of people. Like, really Ollie?
At the hospital, Ollie shows up to give Laurel a ride home. He refused to train her because he cared for her so much, not because he thought she was helpless. A helpless judgment would be understandable given the amount of times she has been kidnapped.
At the lair, Ollie explained what we all guessed. Through meditation, Roy realized he was remembering killing the cop, not Sara. He just thought it was Sara because her death by arrows brought it all up. While, Roy did not murder a friend, he did murder a someone. I wonder if he will turn himself in for this crime. He was willing to turn himself in for Sara's murder even though none of the authorities even knew she was dead. Side Note: Ollie officially named Roy the “Arsenal” so it's canon now. Arsenal is Arrow's sidekick from the comics.
Back in Hong Kong, Ollie and Captor find the message which says “contact Li Kuan Hui.” All Captor's Wife wants in return is for Ollie to get out of their lives A.S.A.P. This is problematic because YOU are the one holding HIM hostage. Ugh. This chick.
At Wildcat Gym, Ted turns down training Laurel any further. She says all she accomplished the night before was because of him. She wants to be his new apprentice. She can't be any worse that Isaac, I suppose. By suppose, I of course mean hope. It seems she wants to kill Sara's killer before telling Quentin.
Isaac is getting arrested when Cupid shows up firing arrows everywhere. Sara's killer?
