TV on 9-26-13
-Patton Oswalt will guest star on “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.”
-Ana Ortiz (Devious Maids) will guest star on “Revenge.”
-Martin Freeman (Sherlock) has been cast in “Fargo.”
-Loretta Devine has been cast in “Sirens.”
-The second season of “Homeland” will marathon this Saturday.
-I watched “Two and a Half Men” for Amber Tamblyn. She’s pretty good but I won’t be watching more. I watched the first several seasons and don’t feel compelled to go back.
-“Grey’s Anatomy” will be on my weekend post.
“The Big Bang Theory” 7x01-7x02
“This isn’t a very good connection but it sounded like someone just released a Kraken.”
“You think you’re so cool because your wife is a person.”
I liked the new combinations of Bernadette and Amy. They were funny. I liked Penny and Sheldon getting closer. I could get behind Raj and the HR lady as a pairing but he might not be mature enough for her. I liked Penny’s movie but not Leonard showing it. I’m glad he had fun. I also liked Penny apologizing to Sheldon when she was actually in the wrong.
I like that Leonard and Sheldon decided to be friends. I did find it interesting that Sheldon was willing to expose Penny’s cheating, probably out of loyalty to Leonard. This episode seemed to balance seriousness with ridiculousness. One thing I liked was that it addressed some of the criticisms of the show which is Penny seems to be an alcoholic and Leonard openly vents about his problems with Sheldon, though they are friends.
“Parks and Recreation” 6x01
So many guest stars this episode. I literally cannot name them all. Henry Winkler is Jean Ralphio’s dad who is out to destroy Tom. Andy is going to be working in London with a rich British version of himself. April is supporting him and Leslie. Leslie lost her faith in the town for a minute. Ann is pregnant with Chris’s baby. Jerry accidentally sabotaged Leslie. Ron married Diane after she got pregnant. Leslie sent him to a scotch factory.
“The Crazy Ones” 1x01
I feel like the whole pilot was built around Robin Williams’ humor and chemistry and was otherwise formulaic. That said, he was funny. I feel like the characters have room to be explored. I will need to see more episodes to see what they do with the show.
“Glee” 5x01
Kurt and Blaine got engaged. The proposal was pretty amazing. Kitty and Artie are dating. Sue is principal. Figgins is the janitor. Rachel had an audition. I liked the music this episode.
“Elementary” 2x01
Sherlock helped an old friend who stabbed him in the back. He and his brother made up kind of.
“The Michael J. Fox Show” 1x01-1x02
I liked it. It was classic sitcom stuff but enjoyable. I found Mike’s friend funny.
I like that Mike has a really good marriage. Liking someone who liked him made sense. I also like that the siblings sort of get along.
“Parenthood” 5x01
I like that this episode had Crosby struggle with not loving his baby right away. It is a real thing that does not necessarily make you a bad person. People do get overwhelmed as well. Since he never dealt with Jabbar as a baby, I like this route they are taking with him.
