Wow! This was really creative and contained lots of details from canon mixed with the storyline. I have seen somethings similar a while back, but yours is unique. I could see Claire doing something like this as time passes, hopefully one day spending time with poor Elle. I'd like to think there was a time Elle wasn't totally locked down in her jail and had some semblance of life before getting dragged back into the company business. Great job!

Thank you for reading and commenting. I was really nervous about this one. It's not my usual style and it's my first boy/girl pairing. It means a lot that you said nice things. Maybe I will do a sequel or prequel with Elle. The Road Not Taken is sort of like that with Claire going back and unintentionally romancing her ladies. haha.

OH! Sad. So sad. Good writing! I especially like how you wove it in with the graphic novel/comic book. I haven't read it, but I saw the summary on the Heroes wiki.

I don’t have a lot of mileage with this pairing so I can’t say however overdone it is (I’m going to guess it probably isn’t as overdone as you might think just knowing the fandom), but I like your take on it here. I love the idea of a non-linear relationship (at least from Adam’s POV) and how you spun it with Claire ultimately knowing what was going to happen to him. It was very reminiscent of Eleven/River from Dr. Who, a personal favorite of mine.

Loved the ending line of nine when she wonders if she is poisoning his soul as her roots have already started to darken no doubt. And the final line of the fic, when she starts thinking about stepping on butterflies. It’s both sweet and chilling at the same time.

On a side note I really like your continuing friendship between Claire and Hiro, even as it suffers when she starts to slip into the dark.
