An anonymous benefactor has gifted the comm with 6 months of paid time. You know what that means - ICONS! Woohoo!

Really, thank you anonymous. And thank you to all you other nutbars.

Ooh, can I make a suggestion then?

Because with a paid account you can play with the S2, you'll be able to make those tag lists that can change this:

  • author: name1
  • author: name2
  • author: name2
  • pairing: a/b
  • pairing: b/c

Also, wow does lj make lists look horrible. Sorry for the extra crappy formatting, I would have used non-breaking spaces if I thought it was going to spread it out so far.

It's okay - I knew what you meant!

Neato. Will you coordinate with darkhavens? she's the tag guru.

No problem, I just found her online.

Do you have someone who I should hand the code off to (ie, that is comfortable with S2) or should I ask for access?

It's an easy enough change that I can do it now so that people can see it, and then again it once a final layout is chosen.

Nope - I'll give you maintainer access. I'm asking the co-mods to do the tagging, instead of the posters, so it stays consistent.

Oh, fantastic. I'll comment again once it's done.

Alright - it's now updated to work with multi-level tags. So, for example, the tag "author: yin_again" gets displayed under "author" as "yin_again" which should make it easier for people to find the category they want.

I ended up not writing the code from scratch, since I found a perfectly usable version from murklinstest that I just popped into a new layer (not exactly as the tutorial explains, but pretty close). Anyhow, it's real easy to add to any new style, so if anyone designs a final style via css and needs me to edit the code, I'm absolutely willing to do that. Just poke me.

Also, if you're anal about keeping things clean, now that this is all worked out, feel free to delete the whole comment thread.
