Introducing Miko Kusanagi, Lighting Technician for GPFG Studios
I wrote this as a comment in Yin's journal because she needed cheering up and the idea of Miko going to work at GPFG wouldn't leave me alone, no matter that I haven't been able to actually write anything at all in over a month. So...
Miko Kusanagi studies to become a Lighting Technician after being inspired and encouraged by her grandfather, who used to work in Hollywood, before Pearl Harbour and the internment camps he told her about when her parents weren't around to hush him up.
She hears about the job opening at GPFG Studios from one of the busboys at her part-time job. He apparently spends every waking (non-working, non-studying) hour at the GPFG website. She's not really sure she wants to get into the porn industry, but it's a job in her field, and the hours wouldn't interfere too much with her schooling, so she makes an appointment.
She wears her only interview suit, a neat little tightly buttoned navy number with a pencil skirt, and adds a soft mint green blouse underneath, but she has jeans and a tee in her shoulder bag for later.
She gets to the offices an hour early and sits in the waiting room with three guys who talk about the movies they've shot and the porn actresses they've pulled on the job and she almost gets up and leaves. But she doesn't.
All three men go in before her, one at a time, And, one at a time, all of them come stomping out of the office in under ten minutes, muttering about power-mad bitches and their insane ideas.
By the time she's called in, she's absolutely terrified and steps through the doorway expecting to be flayed alive.
An hour later she's standing in the middle of a studio bedroom set, wearing her jeans and tee, taking notes and dodging back and forth to view the 'room' from every angle. She's also fighting the all-over blush that sprang up when Elizabeth, realising Miko had never actually watched gay porn, pushed a video tape into the machine across from the sofas and introduced her to some of the stars of the studio's stable.
