Portfolio/Website
Alrighty, so I need to make a website/portfolio to show off my pitiful works. Ideally, I'd also like to release some sort of game under the same logo, but why kid myself at this point right? Anyway, theres a problem. I'm having a hard time finding a name. I'm usually pretty good at pulling names out of my ass, but this time it's different. The big problem is that there's a symbol I want to use, and finding a name that meshes well with the symbol is proving quite tricky. To FURTHER compound problems, the name needs to be something thats not already taken by someone else. (Needs an open domain)
Ok, as for the symbol itself, it has a tiny back story. Back in 2000 or so, I recieved my very own computer to take off to college with me. The speakers it came with included little rubber feet that popped out of a rubber squares with a sticky backs. There were two squares and at some point I was fidgeting with them and stuck em across each other. Well, it turns out that when you do that they form a fairly complicated looking shape. Ever since then I've wanted to use it for something.
Now mind you, I'm not even entirely sure how I want the shape detailed. Should I go with the solid black shape? Add color and texture? There's a lot of options really. But anyway, thats the shape. I'm quite curious if people prefer the thick or thin one. (The difference being that the thin one has the spacing between circles equal to the distance between circle and edge, where as on the thicker one, each circle has the boarder around it and none of the overlap.)
BUT!! Theres even more to it. I recently read Lone Wolf and Cub and the 5th volume mentioned Daichujin trail markers that were once described in Japanese military manuals. A Square with a Diamond over it means "Castle." The majority of Lone Wolf and Cub tends to be fairly accurate setting wise, so I could see the trail markers being real. But, I can't really find any info on them, so I have no idea.
Anyway, that makes me want some sort of castle based name. (Or Citadel for that matter. I actually prefer the definition of Citadel)
Alas, good ones seem hard to find! I randomly came up with "Far Castle" and was glad to find it not in use. Problem being, when you google it, the one time it DOES show up is in a series of erotic mind control stories. Such a burn!
"Castle Ground" I don't mind, but apparently there are people called "Castle Grounds" so that might not be great either.
I also realized that my name is an oronym for "Grand Talon" or at least close enough to be considered one.(Similar to a mondegreen) Thats almost tempting to use simply because I can't think of many names which can do that.
Anyway, I'd welcome any naming or symbol suggestions.
