(no subject)
So, last week, I went out to visit andsaca369 and emokideeyore for Halloween and stuffs. (By the way, es, I wanted to come see you, but the weekend I had open was the weekend you were moving, as far as I knew, and the last thing you needed was me underfoot. But I was thinking of you! Promise!)
Anyway, had a lovely time. They had these things! Trees that changed color in a season called 'autumn'! I have a vague memory of these things from my time living in the middle of the country. It was utterly bizarre, but very beautiful to see.
Another beautiful thing to see? Obama elected, McCain not. Just sayin'.
Mostly I sat around, revelling in the whole idea of not working for a couple of weeks, watching TV, living their very odd schedule and being slowly adopted by the animals. Also, contemplating a cat-napping as there were three cats who were just about the most attention demanding, but loving cats I'd ever seen. (The other two? Not so much.) As well as a wonderful, yet wholely neurotic dog.
There was Brazilian barbeque with alemya and oneminutemonkey. Then Carolina barbeque. And dinner with a friend from high school that I hadn't seen in twenty years. Not to mention the wonderful cooks that my hosts were.
I was sorry to leave, if only because travelling is such a pain in the arse.
Now I have returned home and am definitely going to have to figure out when I can go back.
