Yeah, it's still the random thumb gesture in that icon that gets me. And then I wonder, this was a tv appearance, do you think the man had any idea how egregiously obvious his penis was at the time?

Considering he's been naked on stage more than once, I'm not really sure he cares that deeply about the visibility of his penis.

This pic was hotly debated on chloris67's LJ (shooped? not shooped?) and then it made an appearance on tennant_love with attribution to RTD's book, and then I had a really long laugh about the thought of RTD making David Tennant manips.

Anyway.

What in the world would give anyone the idea that picture was shopped? The absolutely flawless way the light and shadow on his hair/face matches the body? Or the fact that we all saw those PJs in the Christmas Invasion with that haircut? I'm assuming there must have been some discussion of the patter of his chest hair and how it matches other sightings.

Lordy. Poor Tennant, no one believes it on the few occasions he actually is maintaining his buff.

Ah yes, I have many thoughts on Hamlet. I just haven't written them all out yet. But they are thinky thoughts.

Yeah, it was the buffness, I must confess. I think we were all a little bit stunned at the appearance of abs. Does David Tennant have abs? Apparently he did at one point! This gives me great hope for the supposed Rex is Not Your Lawyer poolside scene (which may go down in my private history alongside the David Duchovny in a speedo scene of the X-Files, which is still seared into my brain).

Is it wrong that I know what episode the speedo showed up in? And the entire context of the scene? I'm convinced the random Mulder goes for a swim scene was entirely because people decided it was high time we finally saw the "swimmer's physique" we kept hearing so much about.

I had no idea Rex was going poolside!

If that's wrong, I do not want to be right, because I can even remember the room I was sitting in when that episode was broadcast and the reaction amongst the people there assembled.

There was a "pool scene" referenced in regards to Rex because the weather in LA was so awful at the time that it kept having to get rescheduled, but whether or not it will feature shirtless DT remains to be seen (hopefully).

Honestly, for me, it was the tan and the buffness. Having seen him in Casanova (which wasn't too much before this), where he looked good but not OMG BUFF, I thought someone must have been having a little fun.

My God, you think someone would have leaked a picture this hawt from Christmas Invasion before now, though... I wonder if this is out of Rusty's personal private collection? You know that if David batted for the other team that Rusty would have at least tried to get some o' that.

As it is, he just amuses himself by writing as many "the Doctor gets randomly smooched" scenes as he can.

Heh. Poor Tennant. I'm reminded of the interview where he explained whenever he knows he is supposed to appear naked he is always a very good boy and goes to the gym. But by the time they finally film said scene it is always late into the shooting schedule and he's all skinny again. Alas. Life as a rake is hard.
