I'm skeptical to type out my forthcoming researchish job plans because it seems that every time I do THEY DON'T WORK OUT.
But,
I might be joining a research team investigating the increasing number of hospitals just across the US-Mexican border. The man who oversees the entire group of research teams is an awesome MIT-moved-to-UA professor who dabbles mainly in studies regarding globalization.
The research is for credit not pay which is a problem.
However. He semi-offered me an editorial job. I'd read through his papers and alter bits to make the sentences flow smoothly, keep the word count down to its required amount, etc etc.
So I'm hoping to do both: 10 hours to the job, 5 to research.
I could boost my econ awareness with this job and develop a broader understanding of the changing American healthcare institutions through research.

Well, all this sounds pretty bomb to me.
I have to send him my resume and a writing sample.
I think I'm going to send him my 10-page research paper on Scientology.
I had forgotten about it completely. I can't believe it's ten pages long (yes, double-spaced).
I also need to tweak my resume a bit. Maybe I'll send him the entirety of my curriculum vitae.

THEN I heard about this research program taking place over the summer term in Namibia (in SW Africa), exploring the semiarid and arid habitats.
HOW FUCKING GREAT WOULD THAT BE.
I could potentially get some grants to help me out. Not sure if I could make it work.
I've always wanted to go to Africa.

But I need to apply for the undergrad research program at the UA by Saturday.
So maybe if I get into this research program--in which you work full time for the entire summer--I could save up some $$ to go to Namibia the following summer.

Trying to take advantage of as many opportunities as I can.
Worried about grad school.

Makin' my way in the world.
TCB.
