Well, let's see. I don't update often, I guess that's obvious. There's not a whole lot to tell that isn't just, dull. Hrmmmm, classes, have I written what I'm taking? Well if I have, you get to see again.

International Securities Regulation
International Financial Transactions
International Contract Drafting
Chinese Business Law
Japanese Law

Those are all final now. My add/drop period is over. I went to Harajuku the other day. Cool place. It reminded me vaguely of being in New York with Kali and Elenor. I forget who else was with us at this point, probably DJ and Rachel since it was NY and that WAS our NY group, but I digress. The main strip was filled with vogue stores. There were high end stores like Christen Dior (that's high end right) and brand name stores like Levi. There were basically a bunch of places that I wasn't too interested in. But, if you've ever heard of Harajuku (think Gwen) then you know that high end or brand fashion isn't what it's about. Off of the main strip were a bunch of smaller stores. Remember that Strawberry shit store that you bitched about (and this is for Kali obviously) for like ohhh I don't know 10 years? Well the side streets are all kind of like that. Moderately priced boutiques that pass themselves off as kind of "thrift" stores. Some of them looked interesting, most did not.

Unfortunately I was there at night, and while I did get to see some of what that part of Tokyo has to offer, I don't think I got most of it. The current Harajuku fad is called Gothloli (ゴスロリ[I typed that myself, I rule]). If you can't guess, it's a mix of Gothic and Lolita. Now, it's not goth as we tend to think of it, it's more Victorian fashioned, and it doesn't come with the shitty music either, only the ridiculous clothes. The lolita part is that they fashion themselves to look as young as possible to go with it. The dresses are cut to look like baby doll dresses. Actually if you think of a general baby doll dress (not slutty Barbie, but I'll talk about Barbie in a moment too) it's kind of like that. Not really attractive if you ask me.

On the main strip there WAS one cool store. It was the FAO of Harajuku, called Kiddy Land. It was 6 floors of toys, with each floor holding certain theme. It was nowhere as good or as cool as FAO though. The entire point of this is to talk about Barbie. Now when we were in NY Kali dragged me to FAO and made me look at Barbie Dolls. Which she, at least used to, collects. While this store didn't have an entire floor devoted to them, they did have an annual Japan only release Barbie. No other point to this.

I'm amazed that I wrote so much already. And I thought I had nothing to write about. That's about it for the moment, unless you want paragraphs on the food. Actually a note on McDonald's. It's sad to me that Japan McDonald's is so vastly superior to America McDonald's. Most of the food is the same, with the exception that it comes out looking like the fucking pictures. No ketchup all amassed on one side, or three pickles all on top of each other so you only get one super pickle filled bite, no, these are done right. And the fries, they are ALWAYS hot. Also it's setup so you want to sit down to eat. And stay. LOTS of room to sit, and even special areas so you can plug in laptops. The place is often filled with people studying. It rocks. I actually like McDonald's here a lot if only because it is the BEST place to study.

Finally here are some Random thoughts I've been having that you don't care about.

Ohhh yeah. New phone number of course. I'm not going to give it to you unless you want it, but I do have an ultra cool phone that gets 16 channels of TV and e-mail. You CAN have my e-mail though, which works like a text message. Send me an e-mail too so I can have your addresses so I can e-mail you when I'm bored.
