Life is somewhat unshitty at the moment. Bits of it are even fun and downright salubrious.

Work is good. It's interesting, challenging and reasonable. We're looking at our most critical time of year at the moment, and I'm swanning off on holiday in the middle of it and *almost* not feeling guilty. I've joined a gym again which is very easy to get ( Read more... )

Are there actuall IMAX prints?
Or is it just on the *BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG* screen?

According to a brief google there were 70-odd IMAX prints shown across the States - proper 70mm jobs.

They distinguish the normal prints with a derisive (35mm) after the title in the programme. Wacky London economics mean that an IMAX ticket is not actually much more pricy than a standard cinema ticket either. Win!

They always used to use the ads reel as part of the derision...

Yup. Postage stamp 35mm in the middle of the screen :-)

They start with the son et lumiere show-off as well to highlight the speakers etc.

Not just 70mm but 15 sprockets of the stuff!
The IMAX sound system is fairly hardcore as well, like DTS on steroids.

was loosely kicking around idea of picking Sannah up from Leeds on Sunday and going to the iMax in Bradford :)

yeah - I went and had a look after I posted - shame :(

Just have to watch it on scree 7 instead - not a huge disappointment ;)
