SO MANY THINGS:
i had the flu or something like it all last week.
i slept 1 million hours because of it.
fell behind on some work which kind of sucks
i was keeping up really well before this - atypical cj
i get really lucky with my careless attitude towards school
for instance, when i had my second writing paper due today.
i didn't do it because im lazy and was distracted
i didn't really care that i planned to hand it in late though
so i go to class today without it and it turns out that
last week, he announced that it was moved to wednesday
but i was ill and not in class so i didn't know this.
anyway, i feel like i luck out or get a lot of second chances
im really glad that i have developed this carefree attitude
it allows me to not stress about things that i don't care about.
like school.
my volleyball team lost in the first round of playoffs last night, AGAIN.
this means that we are out and done for good.
here's what especially sucks about this:
in our division, there are only 5 teams.
we are only supposed to have 6 games and then playoffs.
so with only 5 teams in the division and 6 games, this means
we play 2 teams twice.
so one of the teams we were scheduled to play twice had a falling out.
thus, we never played them and were given the win.
this means that we only got FOUR games and then playoffs.
the other team we played twice was VERY evenly matched with us.
the first time we played them, we won by a point in the third match.
the second time we played them, they won the first set,
the second set they were about to win because they were up 25-24
but then we got 3 in a row, won the second set 27-25 and went into a third
which we won thus beating them.
we then by some random chance get scheduled to play them first round of playoffs.
now our record was 4-2 and theirs was 2-4 putting us in second overall and them in fourth.
HOWEVER, this could have easily been reversed.
so i had a bad feeling about the playoff game because theres only so many times you can
have that close of a game and have it turn out in your favor.
well that is precisely what happened. they beat us by 2 points. great.
im really competitive apparently? i don't like losing.
and what is most disappointing is that we only had 5 games total when we're supposed
to have at least 7. bummerrrrrrrrrr.
in other news, it doesn't snow in ithaca.
evidently, it snows in like, connecticut though. i wouldn't know.
it does get really cold in ithaca though.
today, for instance, the wind chill was like negative 1 million.
this was questionably dangerous or something so our monday crew run was altered.
in fact, we were given like, 4 different options.
so i elected to do the 'towers run'
this entailed running up 14 flights of stairs and back down, up 13, down, up 12, down
... and so on and so forth. it was really quite a unique work out.
i finished third out of 15+ guys. wtf? i rock.
it's kind of a cool thing to be able to say that ive done that now.
friday at practice, we play water polo and i don't really know why.
it was like, SUUUUUUPER fun though. who knew.
i found out that i could tread water for over and hour though.
i feel like crew allows me to find out all these great things about myself
that i would never even fathom that i could do before
like tread, and run up flights of stairs, and even row really well.
i think it's all really good for me though because while i may not be 6 feet tall and as
strong as some other people, im still doing the same things that they are
just at a slightly slower pace... sometimes.
it's really great to exert all this energy and athleticism that i feel like ive been
keeping inside me for so long because im afraid of people or something.
:) <3 !
