“The Last Train”

We walked as if trying to avoid
The choking afternoon sunlight
The intersection under cover of the crowd
You held me sleeve so as not to be parted
We were drawn together
Like opposing magnetic poles
By the time I noticed, I relied only on you
And somewhere became useless

Ah, the wind changed color
Because amidst the turning seasons
I lost sight of something

The last train runs through the starry night sky
Clutching only one small bag
I ride on
Goodbye, goodbye
The train slips between the stars
With me on board, going far away
From your sleeping town streets

Ah, I traveled for so long
And only became lost
Now let’s slip away
Though our exits are surely different

The last train slips through the town towards the veil of darkness
I gaze at the shrinking street rows
My heart raises its voice and weeps
Where, oh where
Did we go wrong?
We only met
In order to hurt each other.
