Today I am grateful for:
Much nicer weather today. Actual Spring is still a long ways away, but nicer temperatures at least make you feel like it's possible.
Spending some time just sitting with the goats/ponies. A very enjoyable passtime.
Kind of one of those days where I would like to do something new and fun, but there aren't a lot of options that spring to mind.
I did vacuum some more in the addition. I am still surprised that the guy who mudded it left such a mess. He even left gobs of the plaster on the floor, now hardened.
So tired of anti-vax folks on Facebook. They want to just stop bothering with mandates like masks or vaccines and "just live our lives". They forget that people are still dying. It's not over. We had 26 people die yesterday from Covid just in our province. That is as high as it's been all along, it's not somehow just all gone. Sometimes I wonder if this will ever be done. Almost as much as the virus itself, I am tired of how much people fight about the measures we all need to take.
I wonder if people always resist safety measures. I know that people reacted in a similar way to the Polio vaccine. Did people resist blackout measures during the Blitz? Somewhere out there, are there people who don't believe in building codes made to resist earthquakes? Who don't want emergency brakes on elevators? Who are just sick of lights at intersections (well, I suppose there ARE those idiots, aren't there?)? Who don't believe in health codes for food preparation?
I watched a movie called "The Deep Blue Sea", and though the filming was beautiful, and in many ways it was a very good movie, it was also just very sad.
Today I learned that 92% of the world's currency is digital. I was really surprised by that. Yet, my husband's pay is directly deposited, and most of our bills are paid directly from that account, and I might only spend $100 or less per month using actual bills or coins, so there you go.
