Wanna see what I painted this year?
It has not been very productive year (there's a painting from Burano that is not shown here because it's only about half done and I've been working on and off since September. Maybe I could take a pic of it like that, as a WIP. I don't know what I was THINKING with that one, seriously. I am doing
this). But in a way... well I only paint at the painting class itself, so 3 hours every Monday nights from September to end of April. I rarely do anything at home because I don't have time. So within those parameters, it's not so bad, quantity wise.
I generally paint from my own photographs, so I'll try to show what gave me the idea if I can find it.
This one is from a picture I took of D in Punta Cana, 2 years ago
This was inspired by stained glass art
I did several paintings inspired by my trip to Italy last year:
Isola dei Pescatori, on Lago Maggiore
a mask from a picture I took in Venice (pictures are always inspiration, I use the colors I want)
For this I used a postcard of the Grand Canal in Venice
Each year we do a research project, and this year it was a photographic collage, where you have to use watercolor to integrate the photograph in the art itself (it's pretty easy to see where it's a picture, the right hand wall and the windows in the other. And I used mortar too for texture on the yellow wall)
I had to do my interpretation of the 4 seasons... (from my head ;) , watercolor and sepia ink)
This one is a still life, done in class. Of course every one of the 12 students had different interpretation (this is watercolor and watercolor crayons)
This one was fun to do... inspired by a background offered by an app on my iPad
Almost every year I paint a cat. Looking for a subject, I found this
gorgeous picture on flickr. This is my interpretation. (btw, I do not sell art for profit that is from someone else, I know the copyright laws!)
I had two exhibits this year, the first was the 'Souvenir d'Italie' one, where the artists who went to Italy had 2 paintings on display. I had the one on the picture and the mask.
Then about a month ago, it was the exhibit at the commercial center... I was with 2 friends in my kiosk, as you can see. (no, I didn't sell anything. shucks ;) )
okay, so that's my year in paining!
jaydblu won the watercolor I offered from charity. So... tell me which you want honey! (The ones the sized I offered are: the cat, the ladybug, the still life and the Grand Canal one :) EDIT: oh, and the mask!)
I hope you liked!
