Superboy/Kon-El - Teen of steel and master of Tactile Telekinesis™

Age: Chronologically he's been around for about two years, but physically and psychologically he's about 16.

Personal history:
Superboy, or Subject 13 as he was originally designated, was created by Cadmus labs shortly after Superman's death at the hands of Doomsday as a replacement for the fallen hero. The scientists in charge of the project obtained samples of Superman's cells but were unable to successfully clone him due to the unfamiliar nature of his Kryptonian genetic structure. They tried numerous approaches, finally achieving success with the 13th attempt when they hybridised Superman's DNA with that of a human donor. It was believed the human donor was the head of the project, Director Westfield but, unknown to those involved, Lex Luthor had in fact bribed one of the researchers to switch the genetic sample from Westfield for one of his own, making Superboy essentially the offspring of Luthor and Superman.

Superboy's hybrid nature meant it was considered unlikely he would develop any of Superman's powers. Instead the researchers engineered him to possess a form of telekinesis that simulated Superman's strength, flight and invulnerability and allowed him to manipulate anything he was in contact with.

His ageing was artificially accelerated and matched with graduated memory implants, designed to give him the knowledge and skills correlating with his physical age. The researchers intended to grown him to adulthood in this manner, implanting a number of trigger words designed to make him controllable.

Unfortunately for them, he was released by the Newsboy Legion (young clones of the directors of Cadmus. Don't ask) before the control words could be implanted, at the apparent age of 16. Escaping from Cadmus with their help, he went straight to Metropolis, calling himself Superman and seeking to take the role as the city's protector.

At about the same time, two other individuals also claiming to be Superman appeared; a cyborg and an individual closely resembling the original who claimed to be the 'last son of Krypton'. Superboy - or Kid as his friends called him - had no doubts he was the closest of any of them to being the real thing, believing himself to be a clone of the original.

After arriving in Metropolis, an attractive young woman named Tana Moon who was in the city trying to make a name for herself as a reporter caught his attention. Together they signed on with the GBS broadcasting station. The station had exclusive rights to report on the exploits of this new Superman so long as Tana was doing the reporting. For a while 'Superman' was livin' large, performing impressive feats for the media and generally basking in the fame. His impulsiveness and flirtatious behaviour got him into some trouble, such as when he agreed to work for Lex Luthor but the next day signed an exclusive licensing contract with manager Rex Leech and copyrighted the Superman name and logo. During his time as Superman he noticed some oddities regarding his powers- no matter how hard he tried he never managed to activate his heat vision or some of his other powers and his invulnerability didn't always work, in particular he found himself surprisingly vulnerable to extreme heat. On occasion he also found that objects he was in contact with would come apart when he thought about it. Convincing himself it was simply the result of the scientists at Cadmus having problems with the unfamiliar Kryptonian DNA he put it from his mind.

The real trouble started when Superboy was almost three weeks old. Nearby Coast City was apparently destroyed by the 'last son of Krypton', leaving the area a burning wasteland. The cyborg-Superman, who had been first on the scene, and Kid were sent with a military squad to investigate the situation. When they arrived they discovered a huge mechanical Engine City dominating the blasted remains. Equally shocking, the cyborg disrupted the team's communications and murdered the squad in front of Kid's eyes. Realising that the cyborg was behind the destruction of the city, he attempted to stop him but was easily beaten and taken captive. While imprisoned, Kid learned that the cyborg planned to destroy Metropolis next, to build another such city. Determined to stop him, he struggled to break free of his restraints. As he began to panic, he found his bonds suddenly flying to pieces around him. Racing back to Metropolis, he was just in time to witness Steel, a new hero trying to carry on Superman's legacy, battling a huge robot on the shores of the city. After helping him defeat it, Kon revealed the cyborg's plans to destroy Metropolis as he had Coast City. At this point, the robot disgorged the original Superman, restored to life through Kryptonian technology located in the Fortress of Solitude. Hearing of the threat to Metropolis, the three agreed to work together to stop it.

Fighting their way to the centre of Engine City, the group found a huge missile, capable of destroying an entire city. As they watched, the missile was launched straight towards Metropolis. Jumping on-board, Superboy clung to the side of the missile, dragging himself determinedly along, dismantling important looking parts with his newly realised super-dismantling touch in the hope of disarming it. With the missile nearing Metropolis, Superboy struggled to force it away from the city. At the last moment, he managed to redirect it out over the ocean, where it detonated safely- well, safely for everyone but Superboy, who took the brunt of the explosion.

By the time Kid was released from the hospital, Engine City and the cyborg had been taken care of and the whole city was buzzing with the news of Superman's return from the dead. Superboy was less than happy however, as Tana had informed him she was leaving Metropolis to get out from under his shadow and, with Superman's return, he was finding it harder than ever to get people to take him seriously. Angry and alone, he reacted badly to an apparent attempt by Cadmus to recapture him, exposing their existence and location to the press.

In retaliation Guardian, a field agent for Cadmus and also a clone, was dispatched to bring Kid in by any means necessary. Fortunately for all, Superman found Superboy at the same time and offered to accompany him back to the project to ensure his safety. At Cadmus laboratories, he was dismayed to learn he was not truly Superman's clone and did not possess his powers so much as a simulation thereof. Seeking to limit the damage Superboy could do to the project's reputation, the directors assigned Dubbilex, a telepathic DNAlien created by Cadmus, to supervise him. As thanks for Superman's help, Kid return the copyrighted 'S' shield and Superman name to him. In return, Superman gave him the name Superboy.

Kid's manager Rex arranged a world tour, to promote his new name. The group got as far as Hawaii, where it turned out Tana was now working. As his relationship with Tana began to get more serious, Kid decided to extend their stay in the islands, gaining a reputation as the 'hero of Hawaii'. During this time, Kid was nearly killed by the so-called clone plague but was saved by Cadmus labs who were successful in developing a cure.

Grateful but still wary of the group, Kid returned to Hawaii. Shortly afterwards, he announced that he was going to be staying permanently, splurging all the profits made from the sale of Superboy merchandise on a huge, broken down old house right in the middle of one of the more densely forested patches of one island. Settling in Hawaii bought a number of problems with it, the first being his enrolment in one the local schools, a requirement of his residency in the islands. Superboy's fame and natural openness made him popular among his peers but less so with many of the teachers who took exception to his flippant attitude and tendency to abandon his schooling in favour of fighting crime. In fact, he barely lasted a few months before being expelled for destroying the school during a fight.

When he was about a year old, Superboy was summoned back to Cadmus for some urgent news. The remains of Project Superman had been uncovered, including the 12 unsuccessful clones that had been created before Kid, all held in suspended animation. The first clone was accidentally reawakened and rapidly began to break down due to the flawed process used to create it. After an initial conflict, they worked together to save Guardian and several other members of Cadmus from danger. The effort was too much for the clone and Superboy could do little but stand back and watch him die. While sitting by his dying 'brother' he learned that he was (believed to be) cloned from the genetic material of Director Westfield, one of the projects former directors, now deceased, and a man responsible for a number of criminal acts. Shaken by the events at Cadmus he was visited by Superman, who reminded him that it didn't matter who he shared DNA with, he was his own person.

Kid's next major life lesson came in the form of Knockout, a former Female Fury, whom he met when she stole a relic he was guarding at the Hawaiian Historical Museum. The theft was only an excuse for Knockout to get to know Superboy in a first date that trashed half a city block. Knockout and Superboy had a number of subsequent encounters where they worked well together, prompting Knockout to invite herself to move in with him. Knockout pushed Kid to learn to use his powers in ways he'd never considered before and made no secret of her interest in him. Kid felt he had a kindred spirit in Knockout, they had both escaped from those who sought to control them and hated the prospect of going back to being property, and she was more fun to be around than anyone else he knew.

The trouble started when Knockout was accused of murdering a police officer. Convinced of her innocence in spite of his friends' attempts to persuade him otherwise, Kid helped her escape the authorities. Hearing the reports, Supergirl tracked him down to confront him. Failing to convince him to turn Knockout in, she tore the 'S' shield from him saying he didn't deserve to wear it until he figured out the truth. Hurt and feeling isolated, Kid took Knockout to a new island that had recently surfaced under unusual circumstances for some privacy. There they encountered Victor Volcanum who had used ancient alien technology to raise the island from the sea bed on which to build a kingdom for himself. While staying with Volcanum, Kid walked in on him getting intimate with Knockout. Furious, he attacked the man, easily beating him. Pleased by his actions, Knockout encouraged him to kill Volcanum. When he was unable to kill, Knockout herself finished Volcanum off, finally cluing Kid in that maybe his friends had been right about her. Determined to fix his mistake, he fought desperately to capture her, only succeeding thanks to Knockout's own training in using his powers. Handing her over to the police, Superboy was pardoned for his involvement but was depressed by the ease with which he'd been taken in. While the mood was thankfully short lived, the experience made Superboy more careful of who he placed his trust in; for a short time at least.

It wasn't much later that Superboy got called to Gotham city by a little known vigilante named Robin, to help deal with Metallo - an old enemy of Superman's. Working with Robin, they defeated Metallo, only for Poison Ivy to appear and take control of Superboy. Under Ivy's direction, he flew them to Hawaii and began to eradicate all signs of human habitation on the islands. Luckily, Robin followed them. Less lucky, Metallo also came along. Using a kryptonite ring belonging to Batman, it was easy for Robin to take out Superboy, but while he was distracted, Ivy caught him off guard and took the ring for herself. At that moment, Metallo arrived also seeking the ring. In the end the pair managed to recapture Ivy and ensure Metallo wouldn't be causing any more trouble until he managed to piece himself back together. Theoretically Kid had learned an important lesson about thinking before he acted; in practice he remembered it occasionally and had laid the ground work for his future team ups with Robin.

Superboy was later kidnapped by a group called the Agenda. He was held unconscious by them for several weeks, during which time Tana and the police worked desperately to track down his kidnappers. When Kid finally awoke, the Agenda's leaders revealed just what they had been using him for - they had produced a clone of Superboy, named Match, with enhanced powers and abilities and programmed to be perfectly obedient. They revealed their plan to produce an army of these clones to sell to the highest bidder, before ordering Match to kill Superboy. He tried to convince Match that he didn't have to follow orders but, when this failed, he fled, trying to find his way out of the facility and instead finding a chamber filled with developing Match clones. Superboy was torn between his respect for life (read: hero complex) and his desire to prevent an army of superpowered clones being unleashed on the world. As tends to happen in these situations, the decision was taken out of his hands when Match tracked him down to complete his assigned task. Still failing to persuade Match that he didn't have to kill him, Superboy fought back defeating the supposedly superior Match, but in the process damaging the reactor that powered the base. When the reactor exploded, Kid managed to save his kidnappers but Match refused his assistance and appeared to be caught in the explosion.

In the weeks following his abduction by the Agenda, Kid noticed something off. For the first time since he was afflicted by the clone plague he felt unwell, but it wasn't anything major so he dismissed it, distracted by the usual parade of trouble. It became apparent the problem was more severe than he'd thought when he was attacked by the assassin known as Copperhead. During the fight his powers started failing and his body seemed to be literally breaking down. Barely managing to escape alive, he went straight to Tana for help. Calling in Cadmus for assistance, they discovered that Superboy's cellular structure was completely breaking down, most likely thanks to tampering by the Agenda when he was held captive. Superman, Supergirl and Steel were called in to investigate the remains of the Agenda's base and to interrogate the group's directors for clues to curing his condition. They were partially successful, locating several functioning cloning chambers and briefly encountering Match hiding out among the ruins. The cloning chambers were reprogrammed to rebuild Kid's DNA based on that of a provided template, in the form a living individual as close to him in age as possible. The process was risky as for it to work both Superboy and the template had to be essentially broken down and rebuilt from the ground up. With Superboy running out of time, Roxy volunteered to provide a template, willing to risk her life to save him. After several tense hours, the chambers were opened, revealing the process to be a complete success and, now that they shared some genetic material, they found themselves more like family than before. An unfortunate side-effect of the procedure was that Superboy was now unable to age. He would never grown up to be Superman like he had always dreamed of.

The next few months were rough for the Kid as, in relatively quick succession, he broke up with Tana and lost his popularity with the people of Hawaii. In a misguided attempt to boost his public image, his manager Rex signed a contract to promote and open a Superboy roller coaster. The deal was a set-up designed to discredit the Kid by making it appear he'd hired some wanna-be villain to trash the event and make him look good, thus generating publicity for the company behind the event. When Superboy heard the masterminds behind the scheme gloating about how easy it had been to dupe him, he fled, heading back to Hawaii, but never arrived. As far as his friends knew, Kid vanished somewhere over the ocean. After several months of searching, they all moved on with their lives.

In truth, Superboy had been hit by an energy discharge and crashed on an island that had once been used by Cadmus for genetic experimentation. It was now populated almost entirely by various non-human sentient animals, called the Wild Men, produced by the experiments and who were unaware of the outside world. Kid was stranded there for several months thanks to a drug administered by one of the island's inhabitants, a snake named Sacker, which rendered him unable to speak or remember any of his past. When Superboy eventually escaped and returned home he found himself alone and completely at a loss for what to do with himself.

Hearing of his return, Cadmus offered him a position as their field agent, investigating reports of unusual creatures and illegal genetic experiments all around the world. Figuring he had nowhere else to go, he accepted.

Shortly after being recruited by Cadmus, Kid found himself again working with Robin and Impulse. First to free a young metahuman girl held captive by a government agency and then to save the world from an immensely powerful young boy who had banished all the adults to another planet, leaving the world in chaos. The three decided to stay together as a team, stumbling into the name Young Justice. They were later joined by the metahuman girl they'd freed earlier - now calling herself Secret - Wonder Girl and Arrowette and were supervised by the ex-JLA member Red Tornado. The team worked surprisingly well together, in spite of Superboy's tendency to dispute Robin's leadership and flirt shamelessly with the girls, managing to free the other metahuman children from the same facility Secret had been held captive and stopping a cult intent on resurrecting the goddess Kali by mind-controlling children to murder their families.

During this time, Superman paid a visit, taking Kid to his Fortress of Solitude in Antarctica. Here he asked him to keep an eye on the new director of Cadmus and gave him the Kryptonian name Kon-El.

A few weeks later, Kon was surprised by Superman arriving out of the blue to drag him to the JLA's Watchtower where he was presented with his own corpse. Understandably shaken, he arranged for Cadmus to examine the body, to discover who or what it was. A thorough examination revealed it to be identical Kon in all ways, even down to small scars and fingerprints. This alternate Superboy had travelled to their reality with the help of a strange jacket he had been wearing, bringing a warning of a coming 'blackness' before he died from the injuries sustained prior to his arrival. Wonder Woman, Superman and Batman revealed to Kon that they had recently encountered alternate versions of themselves as well, also seeking to avert some disaster. The jacket the other Superboy had used to travel to their reality was DNA specific, and so Kon agreed to use it to try and find where the other Superboy had come from and what the blackness he warned of was. The only way to generate enough energy to power the jacket was with a nuclear explosion, so the League called in a few favours, strapped Kon to a nuke, shot him into the upper atmosphere and detonated the bomb. Absorbing the energy of the explosion, the jacket sent Kon pinballing off through different realities...

Personality:
Thanks to his unusual origins, Kon has a lot of theoretical, implanted knowledge but is lacking in experience, which can make things difficult when he encounters something for the first time. A simple example is that he was 'born' knowing what a dog is but until he encountered one he didn't know how they behave or what they smell like or anything beyond the basic concept of a dog. While he's had a few years to gain practical experience, there are still things which he knows of but has never seen.

He's very naïve and trusting, generally thinking the best of people even when there is evidence to the contrary. He knows he's attractive and is very flirtatious, with his hormones often overriding his common sense. He's overconfident and impulsive, tending to rush headlong into problems without thinking. Kon's first reaction to most conflicts is to punch first and talk later, which nearly always gets him in trouble. When he does try and think his way out of problems Kon can be surprisingly ingenious and is particularly good at finding ways to use his powers in situations where they initially appear useless. These occurrences are sadly rare however.

Kon makes friends and forms attachments a little too easily, partly due to his inexperience - when you've only been alive two years, knowing someone a few months is a long time - and partly due to the fact that, more than anything, Kon wants a family. He doesn't have a particularly close relationship with Superman, the closest thing he might have to a father, and nearly all of his other close friends moved on with their lives before he rejoined Cadmus. While he is good friends with his team-mates in Young Justice, they all have families which serve to remind him of exactly what he's missing out on. Like most things that upset him he pretends not to be bothered by it.

Kon feels a strong need to prove his worth, to the world in general and to Superman in particular. This need is partly motivated by his origins - many times he's been treated as sub-human because of being a clone and has seen other clones and genetic constructs being similarly treated. He firmly believes that people should be treated as such regardless of their origins.

Superboy always planned to grow up to be Superman and has never been anything but a superhero - he has no concept of what it is to live a normal life. Most of the time it's not something he's even aware of, the same as he never thought of having a name beyond Superboy until Superman gave him one. He does occasionally wonder what he's missing out on but represses these thoughts just as quickly.

Kon hates being controlled or treated as property and this makes him disinclined to follow orders unless the individual in question has earned his respect and trust, such as his eventual acceptance of Robin's leadership in Young Justice. He also hates being seen as inexperienced or as a kid, something that has been exacerbated by his inability to age. Being stuck at 16 has made him even more afraid of being left behind again, as he worries all his friends will move on without him just like what happened when he was stranded on the island with the Wild Men.

Physical description:
Kon was designed to look as much like Superman as possible. He has thick, black, slightly curly hair and blue eyes. He is tall for his age at 170.18 cm (5' 7") and well-built. His left ear is pierced and he wears a simple gold ring in it. He wears his costume most of time but when he isn't he favours casual clothes, generally from whatever brands are currently popular.

Timeline:
I've taken him from the beginning of the Hypertime arc, before he woke up in another reality's Smallville where Clark Kent-Superboy lives. He's only just got his own name and has recently started working as Cadmus' field agent after all his friends in Hawaii moved on with their lives. Young Justice as a team is still fairly new and inexperienced at working together but the group is close knit in spite of this.

Powers:

Normally:
Kon possesses tactile telekinesis™ which allows him to fly, enhances his strength and grants him a degree of invulnerability. He can also use it to disassemble or otherwise manipulate anything he touches and can extend it a distance from his body allowing him to shield others, hold buildings together, etc so long as he is physically connected to his target. Arguably it can function as an extra sense, allowing Kon to feel whatever his TTK is in contact with. It does not protect him from energy, such as extreme heat or lightning, however. He also shares Superman's vulnerability to kryptonite and, while it is not a power, he is physically unable to age. He possesses a number of other enhancements, intended to imitate Superman's various other abilities such as his heat vision, though these were designed to manifest only when he had reached a set age and as such it seems unlikely he will ever develop these abilities. He is solar powered like Superman and is less efficient at processing the absorbed energy, meaning that if is he kept away from strong light sources for an extended period he will be considerably weakened.

In Landel's:

The TTK is seriously restricted- no extending it to shield other people or using it hold buildings together and no more flying. He has to concentrate to use any of his abilities, whereas before they were nearly all unconscious, and is only able to use one ability at a time.
Kon is still be able to do low-level manipulations, such as picking a lock and other such activities that involve only moving small objects around in a limited fashion.
He can enhance his strength to about that of an reasonably buff adult male and can use the TTK to shield himself in the same manner that normally creates his invulnerability. This is only able to be extended to protect an area about the size of half his forearm and only shields him from weaker attacks, like a (nightshift) cat bite. Anything bigger can break straight through.
He can use his powers in any combination at most three times a night, any attempted further use will be unsuccessful and give him a crippling migraine. If something does break through his shield he won't be able to use his powers at all for the rest of the night, regardless of what he's being doing up to that point and again will get a nice little migraine to keep him company.
Kon still possesses the same vulnerabilities and is stuck at 16.

Other skills or abilities: None.

Third-Person Sample:
"Actually, my name is Kon-El."
"Didn't I tell you? My name is Kon-El."

Scowling at his reflection, Superboy scrubbed a hand through his hair. He'd been locked in his room at Cadmus for the past hour, practising how to tell the rest of Young Justice his new name without sounding like a complete and utter loser. It was going to be difficult, even for him. Normally he'd be doing something like this at YJ HQ, but knowing his luck, this would be the day Bart actually arrived early (for someone so fast, the guy sure took his time about getting to their meet-ups) and decided to barge in on him, ignoring the huge 'Keep Out Bart' signs hung up everywhere. It almost made him wonder if Imp could actually read English if it weren't for the fact he still kept spouting lines at him from those cheesy romance novels he'd found in Superboy's room that one time. Even though they'd been Serling's books and he'd only been reading them 'cause he got really bored waiting around while they ran tests on him. Stupid Bart and his friggin' photographic memory. Never mind the way Rob always managed to smirk at him when Imp started in, without actually having any sort of expression on his face and-
Glancing at the clock on the wall, Superboy swore, realising that if he didn't want to be the last one there, he had to leave now. Turning back to the mirror he winked, pointing at his reflection, "Just call me Kon." Yeah. This was gonna be great.

*

Superboy had almost reached the Justice cave when his phone started beeping insistently at him. Fishing it out of his jacket, he tapped it on, saying "You have reached the Superboy hotline, press 1 if you wish to make a confession of undying love, press 2 if you're a babe in need of rescuing, press-"

Robin (stupid Bats all had their sense of humour surgically removed) cut him off saying, "We've got an emergency, Superboy. Meet us in Richmond as fast as you can. I'll explain on the way."

*

Several hours, slimy, disgusting hours later, Young Justice had finally finished cleaning up the mess left after they dealt with the exploding alien pus bags that had tried to invade. "I mean, what sort of alien decides to invade a planet and doesn't check that they're not gonna have a meltdown as soon as they set foot-"
"Tentacle," Bart corrected as he blurred past.

"Whatever. On the surface. That was the lamest invasion ever. I'm covered in alien goop. And you'd think people would be a little grateful, but all they did was whine about how bad it smelt and who was going to clean it up. We were the ones up to our necks in the stuff. Was Bart naked?" Superboy paused in his griping to look around for the suspiciously flesh-coloured blur that had gone past a moment before. Shaking his head, he turned back to Robin. "Sure wish the girls had decided to get cleaned up here instead of going home." That didn't even garner a change in expression from Robin, who was being his normal, boring Bat-self and writing up a report on the alien zits from Uranus or whatever. Flicking a glob of goop at him, which Rob deflected with out even looking up, Superboy wandered off to see if he could convince Bart to help clean this muck off him.

*

After some good, clean, (wet, naked) fun to help wash away the trauma of battling self-popping alien zits, Bart and Rob both said they had to get home, even though it was only, like, three am and weren't Bats supposed to be nocturnal? It was just another thing to make Superboy grateful that he didn't have anyone waiting up at Cadmus to inflict a curfew on him (sure, he was curious what it'd be like having parents wait at home for you, but 's'not like he wanted the hassle of having someone keeping tabs on him all the time. He was just curious that was all). Following them outside, he took to the air just in time to avoid being smacked upside the head by Impulse. Swooping down, Superboy gave chase, using his tactile telekinesis in a brilliant and unexpected manoeuvre to catch the little freak and pin him down under him. At least, until Imp started vibrating. That... kinda ruined his concentration and let Bart phase his way out, to zip over to Robin who was waiting to leave. It wasn't until Rob grabbed his bag and tossed a quick "See you, Kid," over his shoulder that Superboy remembered.

"Kon-El," he blurted suddenly, "I mean, I have a- Uh, my name is- Kon-El." Smacking his forehead at the utter lameness of the announcement, Superboy scanned the sky, in case the alien zits decided to do him a favour and make a come back.

"That'scoolyougotanamenowdidyoucomeupwiththatyourself? It'skindaweirdcanwecallyouKon?" Bart babbled excitedly, zipping over to hug him. Grinning, he looked over at Rob who was smiling slightly. He feigned shock, making Rob do that thing where you could tell he was rolling his eyes even behind the mask before he turned away saying "See you, Kon."

Watching the two of them go, Kon grinned, launching into the air with a whoop of joy. Next time he'd have to tell the girls. He bet they'd want to hug him too. If only there was a way to get them wet before hand....

First-Person Sample:
The handwriting is a messy, careless scrawl written in a cheap, battered notebook.

Finally got a moment to myself. I appreciate Tana and Roxy and 'Ex have been worried 'bout me but I just need some space. I think Dub knows - well, duh!, he's got his powers back now, 'course he knows, he just not saying anything - I'm more bothered by the whole Match thing then I let on, but I can't tell him. It's not like he wouldn't understand, being a clone and all too, but I dunno what I'd say.

Even now, it's hard to say but, seeing Match, willing to kill me just 'cause someone told him to, saying he didn't want to be human, that he was happy just being the Agenda's weapon? It really kind of freaked me out. Keep wondering if that's what I'd be like if the Newsboys hadn't broken me out when they did, if Westfield was planning to make me like that, take away my sense of right and wrong and just make me some machine?
I feel bad enough for being kinda relieved that all those other developing clones were destroyed with the base. They were people too, and maybe we could've done something to help them, to make them see that they don't have to be robots following orders, that they can make their own decisions. But now they're all dead and some part of me is glad I didn't have to decide what to do with them. What sort of hero thinks like that? Superman sure wouldn't. He probably would've been able to save Match too. The guy was the closest thing I'll ever have to a brother and he'd just been born and I should've tried harder and I shouldn't be relieved I'll probably never see him again. Maybe he survived the explosion - if he is tougher than me it's possible - but with the rest of the Agenda crooks locked up I dunno what he'll do now. I hope he gets a second chance, finds people like Roxy and Tana and Dubbilex to help him out, maybe we could hook up in a few years, do the whole 'long lost brothers' thing, kinda like on that episode of Wendy.

It would be cool anyway.
