*disclaimer - this is pre-edit. excuse any grammatical errors or misstypes. :)

I've seen this done in several other blogs - just a quick recap of my top brain farts for the week, as another one comes to a close.

1) General Motors Diet - A week after following the GM diet, I lost a total of 6 pounds and a few inches off my waist - and was able to wear a pair of jeans i haven't worn in a while :) But no final counting here yet, I'm still giving it a week to level off, expecting to get a bit of that lost water weight back. I suppose I'll get around 3 pounds out in total. But overall i really accomplished my goals and was happy with the results - feeling much lighter and just having a revisited sense of what my body can do. What I found most enjoyable about it though were the recipes and cooking that I got to do and create along the way. So many people get turned off at the mention of "only veggies" and "milk+bananas", but the cook in me just got even more inspired and excited about it. I'm planning to do another round; promise also to post about the recipes next week.

2) Nylon Pretty - I found the most perfect book last week - for 1k+ plus books I usually hesitate, but i didn't have qualms about buying this whatsoever. The no-nonsense writing approach of Nylon worked wonders on the topic of beauty, a refreshing deviation from all of the other beauty articles and books I've read in the past. Can't wait to get Nylon Street, their take on the sartorialist's, well, the sartorialist.

3) The Non-Glamour of Red Carpets Present - This year's string of awards-season red-carpets continues to be blah.. again, not really bad, but not incredibly fantastic either. Some notable looks from the SAG Awards:

Diane Kruger
There's no question about Diane looking absolutely stunning in this dress, but it's just too reminiscent of Michelle Williams' super original yellow frock from the Oscars a few years back. So no wow factor there still.

Michelle Monaghan
This was one of those love-em or hate-em dresses, and i was on the green side - again, not wow, but it was a refreshing change from all of the other drab looks on the carpet. Her hair is pitch perfect too.

Anna Paquin in Alexander McQueen
I'm sure some people thought this was event inappropriate, but it's not like she was one of the night's biggest stars, right? The colors are great, her hair and make-up's great, and the shoes are fantastic. And this get-up shows her great body which I don't think a lot of people really give her enough credit for.

Here are some other looks from the Golden Globes that I haven't posted:

Anna Paquin in Stella McCartney
I love what Anna's turning into - a hippie glam girl of some sort - always on-trend, but never trying too hard. She's an absolute stunner in this gold piece, updated with a trendy shoulder and neckline. Everything else fits right in too - from the hair, to the make-up, to the clutch, and even the fiance. :p

Diana Argon
I barely recognized her as the cheerleader from Glee in this ensemble - she looked like a flowing vision in this dress. Gorgeous gorgeous.

4) Search for this year's Spring Bag, and THE new Spring Shoe - I love my LCxJS bag to death but it's run its course, and it needs a replacement. It's time to search for the Spring bag. Please feel free to suggest. :)

Meantime, I'm still unable to define the "Spring Shoe" - i think designers are stuck in that limbo of re-using past trends vs. inventing the next big thing. In looking at what's out there I'm forecasting that it's not going to be a new shape, or a new texture, but a new color or pattern.. I donno. Or maybe statement shoes will go back to being just statement shoes again. Maybe we'll go back to the classic pumps and flats. :)

5) The New Maria -  Sharapova, you are done. When you were losing all of those matches you still hand your fashion sense, but apparently you've lost that as well.

I have a feeling that this is going to be Kirilenko's year - I used to just notice her because of stella mccartney for adidas, but now her tennis props are starting to show as well.

Now back to regular programming.
