today i watched:
at home:
days of heaven, terence malick's second film. of course, it's amazing. he manages to make amazingly passionate and beautiful movies that lack any melodrama. his cinematography and scripts and editing are all so fucking good. i love him so much.
in the theatre:
the illusionist. was okay. i definitely knew the "twist ending" the very moment it began, but judging from the rest of the audience, i'm smarter than most people (even though i usually get really involved in movies and don't see twists coming). it was kind of weird to see jessica biel in a period piece because when there was a sex scene i was completely distracted waiting to see if we'd get a very period inappropriate view of her
giant guns. sorry i don't have much to say, but there just isn't much to say about this movie, anyway.
later this week: invincible, half nelson, factotum, american friend, gilda, badlands
