Freaks and Lovelies.

Christmas is fast approaching in a blur of red and white.

I have bought nearly all of my presents for the gang and family which I'm rather pleased about. I even got ahead of myself (for once) and bought John his 21st present! Personally I think it's awesome and I can't wait to see his face when I give it to him!

I'm kind of upset that we don't have a Christmas tree this year. Last year we just stuck a star on a lava lamp and called it our tree. All of the presents just kind of sat pathetically around it. This year we don't even have the lava lamp.

On another note the other night was a shade of wonderful. The usual gang met up at a park in Bayswater. It's one of the very few parks where the equipment doesn't have law-suit friendly rounded edges. Everything is tall and dangerous and brilliant. Apart from John rolling his ankle the night was a blast. A good amount of it was spent in the back of an old play equipment train which had been fenced off. We just climbed ourselves in, up and over and sat inside it in near pitch black, eating nibblies and "improving our night vision". The whole thing brought me back to my primary school years. It was a great idea on Pennie's behalf.

Tonight was pretty cool too. John and I, after I spent a little time at his place eating dinner and straightening my hair, headed into Fitzroy for Cam's going away party. Getting in there was interesting. There were a lot of rough people at Ringwood station for a start. More than usual. The two of us ended up at Parliment Station at about 11:30 and decided to just walk to 'Barry's' since every taxi, regardless of whether the lights were on or not, seemed to be taken. On the way we saw 2 very gorgeous possums! By the time we reached the club it was 12:00. Then we waited in the que for about 15 mins. Once inside we wandered around looking for familiar faces but there were none to be seen. I bumped into Kevin and Kira which was nice, and EVENTUALLY found Cam. It wasn't long however before we found ourselves a little bored and began searching for the Scarlette Bar. When we couldn't find it, John bought himself a "souve" as he now likes to call them (copyright Ceri!) and we just sat on the side of the road and chatted. It was really nice and felt a little different to our usual late night convos. The tone of it was reminiscent of a convo we would have had earlier on in our relationship. It's difficult to elaborate on it any more than that. But it was certainly very calm and very comfortable. After we spent a little time sweltering in 'Aliah' (if that's even how it's spelt)we jumped into a taxi in order to head home with enough time for John to get a decent amount of sleep before work. As we were telling the taxi driver where we wanted to go, a random intoxicated guy just wormed his way into the car, claimed he was with us and then began having a go at John. When the taxi driver told him to get out of his cab, the guy arced up and the two of them started heckling eachother, as John and I sat nervously in the back seat. Eventually the guy got out of the car, but as the driver went to leave, the random spat on his window, so the driver got out of the car which was at this stage sitting in the middle of the road, and ran after him! We decided to get another cab.

Eww...I smell like club smoke...
