The only time that I've ever been arrested...
I figure that there are those of you who may need a good chuckle or three, and I figured that I could provide that with the story of the only time that I have ever been arrested...it happened to me on my weeklong fall break 3 years ago... (which is why I thought about it, because our Fall Break is Friday...only)
I was arrested in Nashville FOR TRYING TO STEAL MY OWN CAR!!! See, it was warm that day, and I decided to crack my windows so it wouldn't get too hot in my car while I walked downtown. I started walking away and noticed the back passenger window was maybe down further than I meant for it to be, and I thought well, I'll see if I can get my arm in and that'll help me know if it's down too far...so I stick my arm in through the window and try to unlock it and because I have this kind of dumbness and luck, I reached with the hand I was holding my keys in, which I of course dropped. A
At that point, I look up and see a Metro Nashville cop...and he's staring right at me, so being the friendly guy that I am, I smile and wave. Soon thereafter, I am in cuffs on the hood of a police cruiser, having my rights read to me!!! I loved the way that this cop read me my rights also-he was like "YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT, PUNK! ANYTHING THAT YOU SAY CAN BE USED AGAINST YOU IN A COURT OF LAW, PUNK!..." and he would press my head into the hood on each "...,PUNK!". I tried to tell them, but they seemed rather irritated, and told me to shut up. So as they're taking me downtown, the officer driving gets a radio call. They had ran my plates and realized their error, so I got an apology from the city of Nashville, and immediate release, plus they helped me get back into the car since my keys were now locked inside it...it was so scary, and yet so strangely funny. Hope y'alls fall breaks are as interesting, but interesting in a better way than mine was that year!
