Summary: A little girl marvels how a butterfly can even adorn the ground in death.
The little girl stared in awe and sadness at the tattered iridescent wings. No longer would the wings of the butterfly beat the air with coy grace, sometimes following the breathy channels of the wind, sometimes shyly blazing their own trail through the fragrant air.
The butterfly had sipped its last from the goblet of life, reaching the end of its glittering tether. The dead insect adorned the earth in one last testament of beauty--but the beauty was already fading, and the little girl knew she had to pay silent tribute now. Her chance would stray before the morrow.
