Officially Upset Now

A lot of great things happened in this week's Hannibal episode, but all I can think about now is [VERY ANGRY SPOILERS]poor Margot. Way to go, writing team, you managed to make me feel sympathetic trauma and violation on Margot's behalf, on the same scale I would have felt if I had to witness a rape scene, without actually witnessing a rape scene. AFTER I was ALREADY Read more... )

mason verger, margot verger, blegh, rage, hannibal, rant

Margot, you should've gotten out of the house as soon as that test turned positive because in no way was her brother gonna let her have a child and usurp him.

That whole sequence was painful; though I don't feel the same betrayal that you do towards the writers. Not saying you're being overly sensitive--you're entitled to feel however you want. I simply knew there'd be no way Margot was gonna keep that kid and that she'd have some sort of a miscarriage by Mason's means. I never thought it'd be as bad as what we got, though.

And--not to defend Fuller or the writers--but we are watching a horror show and what Margot went through is probably the most horrific thing a woman can go through--and only a woman. With all the terrible stuff that's happened this season, Margot's situation is the WORST. I feel like the writers know what they're doing and this is gonna pivot us into the last two episodes and there will be some sort of pay-off.

(God damn it, Hannibal. Although there is a special place in Hell for Mason, too. Rip his goddamn face off, Will/Hannibal/piggies/whoever.)

Yeah. That whole scene was to me what the eye-squick scenes are to Cleolinda.

I'll bank on the payoff, and hope it's really GOOOOODDDD. :) Plus, I feel better now after having slept on it and thought more about how nice it is that Alana has FINALLY woken up and smelled the bacon (which is actually people).

Yep, we don't care who, so long as the face goes off.

Amen to Alana finally being told the truth. I get that she was supposed to be the audiences' POV. But when half your audience--the ones who know the canon--understand what Will's luring Hannibal with all the Murder Husband business, it's so frustrating to see Alana not put two and two together. I just hope she doesn't tip Hannibal off by acting suspicious around him now.

My thoughts regarding Margot's forced miscarriage/sterilization are so muddled right now. I'm trying to formulate them into a coherent post. On the one hand, I understand the criticism; but I'm also not angry. . .? IDK.

Well, I don't want the Will's dogs involved. I think Mason's gonna fall into the pig pit and that's how he'll be disfigured.

See, that's how I felt about Margot, as a lesbian character, sleeping with Will. I understand why a lot of people were upset and offended, but I also understood why the plot required it, so it didn't bother me. I guess it's to each their own pet peeve or squick.

OMG. For some weird reason, I thought they were gonna skip the disfigurement, since he wasn't introduced as disfigured. Man, I should've seen that coming. But now I agree with you--it's gotta be the pigs. He's just too rude.
