Musings on Supernatural Ep. 9:11 "Firstborn"

I'm so excited they're delving into the backstory of Cain and Abel. There's so much potential for interesting scenarios and comparisons, what with the whole doomed brothers theme. Not too excited they decided to change the whole idea of Cain's motivation--the purist in me boos and hisses. AU, just say that to yourself, AU, it's AU, it's AU.

I was ready to yell at the screen when Dean took on Cain's mark--that's one of the single nastiest curses ever, dude, YOU REALLY DON'T NEED IT. But, hey, Winchesters are indestructible, so let's see where this goes.

I really like how Cain's house has all these loving feminine touches that show just how much Colette did and still does impact Cain. Lacy curtains and flowery tea cups especially. :)

Also, the moments with Castiel and Sam were awesome. Love having Angel!Cas back, yes, yes, yes. However, I don't understand why, when the leftover Gadreel grace wasn't enough, they didn't just syphon off a wee bit of the grace Cas stole? I mean, the whole vessel thing should still apply, right? Right?
