I just got back from the WORST experience I have EVER had at one of your restaurants. I went to the Longhorn on Cleveland Avenue in Columbus Ohio and was treated to the most horrible service and disgusting food I've ever been served--and I got to pay for it! Yaaay!
When I walked in I was DELIGHTED to see that our server was the same idiot who screwed up my order at least three times at the Don Pablo's down the street before it closed. (He never told us his name.) I ordered salmon with grilled vegetables and a sweet potato. When the food came the vegetables were steamed and the salmon was delicious, but so salty I could barely eat more than a few bites (my dining companion also noticed this problem and did not finish his meal as a result). I made the mistake of sending it back, thinking that your cooks and serving staff actually CARED that I enjoy the meal I'm paying for. 15 minutes later, when the food had not reappeared, we attempted to flag down our server and were ignored. We had to ask our usual server (A lovely young lady name Linda who always does a fabulous job) to have the salmon boxed because I needed to go back to work.
Another 10 minutes later I finally got my food, in a to-go box, and the server brought us our bill. He had not removed the salmon from the bill.
When I returned to work--15 minutes late, at this point, thanks to our server's incompetence--and finally sat down to eat, I discovered that the cook had grilled the SAME VEGETABLES that I had been given before, the steamed ones, and hadn't even bothered to put any kind of spice on them. He apparently didn't notice that I had used the broccoli to scrape most of the salt off the salmon in the first place, so needless to say the vegetables were limp and tasteless (or coated with salt, yum!). And the salmon, which had previously been served tender and moist, is now cooked to rubbery consistency and has not been marinated or seasoned AT ALL. I took a bite and had to spit it back out again. The food is now WORSE than it was before, I guess I should have left mediocre alone and just eaten my salt-laden food. Oh and did I mention that I had to PAY for this crap?
I have no plans to return to your restaurant until I hear that this server (I don't know his name but he looks like John Malkovich, seriously) no longer works there, and that your cook understands the difference between overly-salted and seasoned appropriately does not mean NO seasoning AT ALL.
You'll have to excuse my rudeness, I have only had a sweet potato for lunch so I am a little bit grouchy.
I look forward to your response.
