Man. It frickin' snowed this morning. Not cool, man.
I have an editors' association networking cocktail thing downtown this evening, and I don't particularly want to go but I pretty much have to since I'm kind of organizing it. This means that I have to leave work early which means that I can't take lunch today. Sigh. I really don't feel like schlepping downtown after work. I keep optimistically checking my email in hopes that another woman I volunteer with has offered me a lift, but no luck yet. Ah well, I'm sure it won't be that bad. It might even be fun, apart from the fact that it's a wine and cheese and I can have neither.
Went book-shopping last night with my mum, but I didn't find that much that I really wanted. I did get a collection of Lovecraft's stories, though. I've never read any Lovecraft, but he's one of those writers that all my favourite writers always talk about, so I figured I should. We'll see how it goes.
Apparently
Al-Qaeda have come out in support of John McCain for President, because they think he will be more likely to ruin America. If that isn't enough to discourage the crazy fundamentalist Christians from voting for him, I don't know what is. Unfortunately, I feel like Obama is too morally upright a guy to capitalize on this. What a great campaign ad that would make though: "The terrorists who want the destruction of America think you should vote for John McCain. A vote for McCain is a vote for Al-Qaeda."
In other news, it's my birthday on Saturday. No huge plans yet but I think next Saturday a bunch of us are going to the Rocky as a kind of birthday celebration thing.
