So this weekend is the pre grand opening weekend for the club that went into Savage's space.
I was walking by on my way up to Neutral and popped in for a few minutes. It was that gravitational pull of "I must go up the stairs"
Savage Garden the club is not. But I wasn't expecting it to be at either.
They are going to be from what i can tell an electonic/house club. I think they will do well. I don't think I will be likely to be hanging out there. But I think I'm going to drop by it again sometime when it's not opening night just to see what it's like. 15 minutes really isn't enough to time judge a place properly and in my case with such an emotional attachment to what was makes it difficult not to compare it. Cause they are completely different clubs.
It was a strange, strange feeling being in there and it not being Savage Garden as I have spent so much time in that space.
I was really kind of weirded out with the interiors. I was expecting completely different. But there were some elements of Savage that they kept. They kept the cage. The bathrooms, while renovated, the doors are the same and they kept the graffiti on the door. The old stools were all lined up in front of the bar.
The dancefloor now has wall of mirrors on the cage side. And they haven't finished yet with the front room.
The feelings of familiarity yet different made me really miss the bar.
My brain is mush. And I'm not being the most articulate, so I'm gonna stop now.
