So, I have had a really bad ringing in my right ear for the past three days. Yesterday morning when I woke up it felt like I had a wad of cotton down inside them... and tapping on the right side of my head produced a somewhat numb feeling. The left ear felt a bit "full"... but the right one was the worst. Kind of like having water in your ears after swimming that won't come out. And I had only about 20% hearing in the right ear.
So I hied myself to the DocInABox... they diagnosed a severe middle ear infection. There's no other symptoms at the time... no pain, no swelling of the 'nodes, no wax in the ears. Fairly clear sinuses... and of course no fever. The RN said I noticed it just before it bust out in all its glory... they gave me a steroid shot in the butt (the shot didn't hurt initially but in about 5 minutes if felt like someone kicked the hell out of me! Went away in about an hour thankfully... I absolutely hate hate hate shots and was so grateful I didn't feel it... I guess there's some use for the gluteus maximus! lol). So they prescribed a super congestion reliever with antihistamine and amoxicillin. Ha, my old friend amoxicillin... I used to take that like candy during college...
Anyway, the ringing is less now. They said it might take a couple of weeks for the fluid to drain out and that at some time I would be a snot factory (my interpretation). Oh joy. Still, I look forward to it being gone completely.
And sometime this weekend, hopefully, we'll go see Indiana Jones. Can't wait!
