a new year.

I hope I'm not too late in wishing you a Happy New Year!

Yes, it's the new SD17 Williams! I have not decided what to name him yet. I finally received him in December, but didn't really have the time to dress him up until today. His default outfit is extremely well-made, and the fabric and materials are really beautiful too. I am really impressed by Volks' attention to detail on him. (Black Cat Lucas seems like a rush job in comparison...)

As for whether they're different. The short answer is not really. Lol. I did spend quite a bit of time examining both of them, and I think the differences are very subtle. Overall, however, I think SD17 Williams is a more refined sculpt - though I can't really tell specifically what is different. (If it helps, most people I spoke to don't really know too...) His features are less 'blocky' compared with his predecessor, his nose is marginally slimmer, his lips seem to protrude a little less. Random trivia: SD17 Williams' left tear duct is bigger than that of SD13 Williams', though I don't know why. XD

Strange how these pictures seem to give Keigo a lot more expression than the new boy...? (Speaking of which, I'm not sure what to make of Keigo's expression too XD He certainly looks very different from here.) While the new boy is beautifully painted, he still has a straight-from-the-factory feel at the moment. Probably the eye placement makes a big difference too. I still haven't removed the hot glue yet.

Also, I did actually make Tsurugi wear his default Reisner stuff and Yuki, the Captain Cecile outfit. However, trying to fit four dolls into a photo proved to be too much of a challenge, what with the dying light...

In other news, Happy 2010!

Actually, it didn't dawn upon me that we're entering a new decade until I started reading a lot of those decade round-up type news stories on TIME (now my favouritest news site ever) late last year. It's almost alarming realising that 10 years has passed since 2000. Probably stuff from the 90s will come back in fashion some time this decade, and this is somewhat cool yet scary because it actually makes me feel quite old. ;_;

On the dolly front, I haven't done much in 2009, I guess. I took very few photos, if at all, and the last photos I took were in July. I bought three dolls, sold three dolls. (So I really didn't buy any at all XD) Most of what I've done was for 1magichour (sekrit plug).

This year, I hope to feel more creative and inspired, among other things. What about you?
