I admit I'm a bit slow on the uptake. I just found a brilliant Spanish fashion photographer by the name of Eugenio Recuenco.
This = Love.
It's so..deliciously decadent.
(Though, I think the style of this series of photos kinda reminds me of Narnia too. XD)
My photojournalism tutor once said he did fashion photography for about half a year before quitting it because he thinks it's boring. Instead, he chose photojournalism. Is it really? I think fashion photography, far from being a so-called bearer of truth, requires a lot of careful thought and creativity, and it is in no way a "lesser" form of photography.
Speaking of which, Yip Cheong-Fun's photo exhibition at the National Library is really, really worth a visit. (I had the privillege of being the first visitor too! haha /useless information) I think he most gracefully demonstrates how a photographer can fulfil both his artistic and journalistic endeavours simultaneously.
Yesterday, hucks and I went to see Ichigo Sugawara's photos (I wish there were more of his works on display, but instead we actually had to browse one of his photobooks on top of looking at the exhibits...) and while we were there, took the opportunity to browse the big red Singapore book, which features numerous delightfully Singaporean photos. It's lovely.
Looking at pictures is such an indulgent activity.
