Reading challenge and end of year meme

Dec 31, 2015 16:33

Remember the 2015 reading challenge? I failed.

A book with more than 500 pages
"The mists of Avalon", Marion Zimmer Bradley

A book that became a movie
"Casino Royale", Ian Fleming

A mystery or thriller
"O uccidere, o morire", Roberto Alt

A book of short stories
"A darker shade of Sweden", John-Henri Holmberg (Editor) - Various authors

A book set somewhere you've always wanted to visit
"Memoirs of a geisha", Arthur Golden

A trilogy (2/3)
"The Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring", J.R.R. Tolkien
"The Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers", J.R.R. Tolkien

A book with magic
"The Hobbit", J.R.R. Tolkien

I started off quite well, but then I slowed down and never made up for the time I wasted. Sure, in the meantime I started working full-time, but still, I could have done better. Oh, well, there's always next year. I had a quick look at a few 2016 reading challenges, but I'm not going to pick one, I already have a pile of books I want to read, I'll just stick to those.

As for the usual end of year meme, I noticed some of the answers have been the same for the last few years, and that's really depressing, so I'll just post an abridged version.
