(no subject)
Thats how it is at the end of the school year.
Jazz band concert, choir concert, elementary spring concert which required minor costuming.
The landscaping is looking much better. What was out there was a no-fuss, blah looking mass. We cleaned that up;took out all the landscaping rocks and took them to the back yard, put down some black dirt, planted flowers-2 pots of lavender, a couple yellow Gerbera Daisies, a few Celosia which are these neat-o spikey doo-dads, and some red Salvia. Then we put down some black mulch which is guaranteed to not fade!!! The back area of that island needs some greenery under the little tree, but that can wait. The back yard looks like poo now! More landscaping rocks to be moved and new weed paper (that stuff to stop the weeds from coming up) will be put down. We also need to get some stepping stones because we tend to walk through the rocks alot. Oh, and all the edging needs to be replaced, it looks like crap too.
The patio is made of gravely cement that is NOT nice to the bottoms of my feet. We bought some of that green grass carpet stuff, cheesey as it is it will look much better. I finally got my patio swing. I have been wanting one for years! So we have that and a few matching chairs. We would like to get a side table to set drinks and what not onto. A new grill will have to wait until either next year or clearance time. For now it needs to be cleaned out and new rocks and maybe a new burner, not sure.
So thats what the ol' Gothicmom has been up to. Today is the first day in almost 2 weeks i've been on the computer to do more than see if i have any important e-mails.
