For once I'm glad I DON'T live in East Grand Rapids!
Yea, Mr. President is here today.
If we lived one street over I'd been stuck in the house all day!
Police are everywhere and choppers keep flying over!
Usually when choppers are hovering it's because they are looking for a lunatic killer!
It's just interesting to me. That someone soooo...important(i guess) is in town.
hehehehe, i feel like a little kid. Most wouldn't careless

Daniel just called. He's on his way to meet someone for lunch. A police officer stopped him and asked him to turn off his car. A minute later a large parade of cars zoomed down the road! He said they must have been doing at least 80 mph!
Anyway, I have a cake to finish. I think I finally mastered the art of frosting a cake so it's smooth. A few things i did different: after I put the filling on and the top layer (bottom side up), I put it in the freezer, then I put on the crumb coat, put it in the fridge for about 30-40 minutes. Next I dipped the spatula in hot water, tap off most of the water then swipe the pile 'o frosting, re-dipping into the water after each swipe. I also bought this thingy, looks like a plastic putty knife to smooth the edges. I have also learned within the last 6 months to make sure the crumb coat is thin!!! and the top layer very thick because to smooth it out properly you will remove a good deal of frosting.
