Today was a gooooood day.
I spent 5 lessons teaching, saved from the final two by a CTL that meant I could join Dave, Nigel, Jess and Paul for a post-work booze. We mainly quoted Monty Python stuff while Nigel regaled us with stories of Aussie house parties :D
After I headed to Shinjuku to meet a friend. Azusa lives opposite me, as in the apartment block next to mine. A while ago she posted me a letter and we started to talk by email so tonight we met up for the first time. It was so much fun and I'm super proud of my Japanese. Azusa-chan can't speak any English so my brain had to work overtime, which, for me means yay I don't fail at this language. We had great fun chatting over a few bites and many drinks about boys and stuff... then headed to karaoke for 2 hours. She is a big Ayumi and Koda Kumi fan, and surprisingly an OLIVIA fan so we had much fun at karaoke belting out girlie pop songs. <3 She's only 2 years older than me but slightly gal-ish and works at a nail salon (her nails were beautiful and cost 30 000 yen!) We're going to meet again next Friday <3
Oh and when she came to my apartment she saw my photo wall and decided from the photos that Perrin was super hot. She wants me to ask him to come to Japan and meet her :D
In other news.... I spent three fantastic days recently, briefly interrupted by a work. Thursday was the BORN shusai event at Takadanobaba AREA. Poli-chan and I were allowed to enter the saizen again! For the most fantastic DELUHI setlist imaginable. They started with Orion, then Baby Play, then Hybrid Truth, a new song with much jumping from side to side and finally Two Hurt. It was awesome amounts of fun. Again we can do the Orion furitsuke if we are saizen it seems XD Juri came over to our side for a short while and he didn't move out of the way of Poli's dancing which ended in him being patted on the legs by her. We were in giggles for ages after but Juri didn't seem to mind. Sujk once again pointed at the two of us in thanks when they left. We're kind of the only regular foreigner saizen anyway. :D DELUHI jouren, that's us. I am going to miss one live, on Tuesday, as a result of work, but that is it until the end of May. また最前に入ってもあるかな。。。。
Friday meanwhile saw the pair of us wander up to Urawa for Tokami. I saw Kiwamu's new project, GPKism. The Aussie singer of GPKism is super nice so we have a plan to see them at an all night party in Ikebukuro in March. I didn't have the courage to say '久しぶりですね' to Kiwamu XD But I had a vaguely nice chat with Ichika of Tokami and the very awesome Cinema S'trip vocalist who embarrassed himself by muttering 'URRS' for Russia then turning away in embarrassment with a 'あやっぱ違うですね'.
Oh and finally, Saturday, after work, Lydia and I headed to Shibuya. I introduced her to Mandarake while we were waiting for a table at the tabehoudai shabu shabu place on the 6th floor. She was shocked and excited at all the JE porn. We thought for a short moment it would be hilarious to read it at work, then we realised we work with Jimmy. After we headed to karaoke and maxed out on Disney songs and Arashi. The combination always makes for a good night, I have found.
So four great days.... a week of bad luck is going to come, I know it.
