Here in our little world, the tiny world spins for me
We're back from hell. I'm pretty sure I don't want to go there a lot, amulet that lets me blend in or not. Carly and I picked up Rhia and then went by my house. Rhia had weapons and I took a gun for emergencies but honestly I don't know how to use any of them really well. Connor would be dissapointed in me. So I took my athame which holds extra power, plus channeling things through metal rather than flesh means you can put a lot more oomph in it without worrying about it you're going to blow your fingers off, and a supply of ingredients for other spells. Mostly shielding types.
Then we went and picked up Alex and Vince's parents, which hi, not really how I wanted to meet them. But I'll worry about making a better impression later. Rhia never could get a hold of Mal so he wasn't there.
We all gathered and Carly did some sort of cloaking spell, that they used to use to follow Alex and Vince with. We hoped that it would get us close enough to where they were holding him for it to be a surprise. I had a vague idea of where he went from the memories I got in the apartment. I was able to describe enough the others knew where he was.
We didn't get very far before they discovered us. Someone must have known we were coming or they just knew about that particular spell and were on the lookout for it. At any rate they attacked us and damn you do not want to get in these people's way. I knew I was feeling rather bloodthirsty about the whole thing but you really should not piss these people off. We used a mix of magic and bludgeoning to make it through the minions. They were casting crap I've never even heard of so pretty quick I had to abandon complicated spells and just slam people with raw magic.
We made it to the place they were holding Vince and Alex and Carly and I joined strength to crack the barrier they had him behind. He looked terrible and I could sense the magic they'd been torturing him with. The rest of them held everyone off while I broke Vince's bindings and freed him. The way he looked at me when I showed up I'm not sure if he was seeing me as an avenging angel or something the cat dragged in and coughed up. I was pretty tired by this point. Once I convinced him that I really was there and it wasn't a trick he started to yell. Yeah right, like I or any of his family was going to leave him in hell, and like they had a choice about bringing me along with them. I just put a hand over his mouth and told him yell later, escape hell now.
The only problem is we were pretty much surrounded and it was not looking good. The real strong minions were there now and we were all tired. That's when Mal showed up. I think the 'benevolent' part of the benevolent dictator for life title was sort of being ignored at that point.
He smiled at us, all business-like and told us it was time for us to leave, that he and Leonard had a little business to conduct and he'd see us all later.
Next thing I know we're back home. We were all in Vince and Mal's apartment and after a few seconds of blinking Vince started in again on how could they bring me there and none of us should have come and put ourselves in danger. He's not too bright at times and he was in pain and exhausted, so I knocked him out.
'Obdormio adhuc' and with a touch he passed out. Alex caught him before he hit the floor and put him in bed. I figured we could all use the rest before the arguments began.
I got a call that Matt woke up, I didn't tell Dylan anything about where I'd been and what I'd been doing, I just wanted to be happy that Matt was awake and looks like he's going to make a full recovery.
The spell I cast won't let him wake up until he's fully rested, I ordered food because he will probably be ravenous when he wakes up and I was pretty hungry myself after sleeping myself. I told everyone I'd call them when he was awake and rational. Hopefully when everyone is caught up on rest and fed we can all talk without yelling. I don't hold my breath, they are family after all and families like to yell but they also love each other and I'm pretty sure that it will all come out ok between them.
