HARRY POTTER 7!!!!!(not a spoiler)
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows finally came out today. we got our copy of the book the moment it came out. I mean like 12:00am midnight moment it came out. i was sooooooooooo excited when we got it because we got the cd's with it. i was so eager to listen to the cd's but i couldn't because my mom wanted to put all the cd's on her iPod. but it was ok
there was also a party for the new book coming out and it was awesome! my mom, my sister, and me dressed up as characters in the book. My mom went as professor Sybill Trelawney, my sister went as Hermione Granger, and i went as Nymphadora Tonks. i actually dyed my hair hot pink just for this party
Two of my friends were there(lexi and Kristen) so i thought that was cool. Lexi was dressed up as Ginny Weasley, and Kristen was wearing a Gryffindor tank top. though i have got to say lexi's costume was really good.
There were alot of activities there for the little kids and some activities for the older age groups. for the kids there were magic shows, coloring booths, and a "guess how many jelly beans are in this jar" contest. For the older age groups there was a tarot card reader, a fortune teller, and a group discussion called "Harry Potter Goes to College".
There was also a costume contest and there wee tons of people dressed up as characters from the book. there were alot of good costumes, but there were also some that weren't so good. there were harrys, hermiones, rons, moodys, tonks', moaning myrtles, the whole lot. there was even a voldemort and an umbridge! as for the costume contest, the contest wasn't like a normal contest. three judges had to walk around and fond the costume they liked best. there were only three winners out of the hundred people there that dressed up, and believe it or not, my sister was one of the winners. the three winning costumes were lord voldemort, harry potter, and hermione granger. the winners won a hat, a box of bertie bott's every flavored beans, and a one way ticket to the front of the line. we were moved directly to the front of the line. and that is amazing considering the line took up the whole store! (and the store is HUGE) so we were out of there alot earlier than we expected.
there was also a trivia contest. there were 50 indexcards with harry potter questions on them placed all around the store. you had to find the questions, answer them on a sheet that eveyone got when they walked in, and then give it to one of the people in the info desk. and my mom being the Harry Potter Trivia master we were good to go other than the fact that there was a HUGE mixup. you see there were 2 indexcards that said " Number 42" and no one could fond number 45. so we had to go to the info desk to straighten it all out. we fionally got everything straightened out and we gave them our papers. even though we were working our butts off to find all the answers we lost. but even though we didn't get a free copy of the book like the trivia winner did we were still in the front of the line.
we had alot of fun and i made a bunch of friends and learned a bunch of stuff about the books. all in all it rocked!
