Geek update

New monitor is installed. It rocks. It rocked even harder once I remembered to update my xorg.conf file ;) New memory is installed, too. For some reason it takes the system a lot longer to finish POST and start booting with 2GB than it did with 1GB. Suppose I'll have to go crawl through the BIOS and see if there's something in there that explains this.

The northbridge chipset fan, OTOH... Seems chipset fans aren't really made to be removed, thanks to the connectors used to attach them to the circuit boards. I'd have had to disassemble the entire computer and pull out the motherboard in order to have a hope of removing this one. Bleh. Well, at least the thing is still a heat sink, and I did have a spare case fan and a place in the front of the case to put it. So. One case fan pulling air in, three fans (case, PSU and CPU) blowing it out and a GFX card fan keeping that chipset cool. If that's not enough for a non-gaming system, I give up.
