Lethal mix

Take one 8GB OpenSolaris system with a ZFS filesystem unconstrained by zfs_arc_max. Add in an OpenIndiana VirtualBox that I've given 3 of those 8GB so I can play with it. Leave the VM running for a week or so. Result: A system so thoroughly wedged that it won't even serve DNS, much less allow an ssh login. Wow.

I've been doing enough work with ZFS tuning these last several months that I realized immediately what had happened and just rolled my eyes at myself as I power cycled my house swerver. I've already changed the VM's memory allocation to 2GB and will at some point set zfs_arc_max to 4GB.

Then I get to take another look at persuading kremvax to upgrade to OI 151. The first attempt went kinda sideways. Thank ghu for ZFS snapshots.
