My .02 on the United seat policy..

Look, I border on being one of those people who may be charged for this. I totally understand that if someone is taking up too much of a space that I paid for, that something should be done. Maybe even an extra charge. I am not arguing that at all. I think it is totally fair.

It's this that bothers me -"passengers on United will be reassigned to a pair of empty seats and won’t be charged for an extra ticket on flights that aren’t full."

If the flight is not full, by all means move me or the person who is uncomfortable to a spot that is more than likely better for both of us.

But if it is full I'm screwed?

So what I'm getting from this is that not only am I going to be inconvenienced by having to take a later flight and possibly interrupt/miss any connections I may have, but you are going to charge me for this inconvenience as well?

Nowadays, the airlines, in order to stay profitable, book their flights so full that a lot of the  time they are asking people to give up their seats in return for free flight vouchers. If this is the case, and i am asked to leave/pay for another seat and others are getting free flight vouchers, why not let one of them back on the flight and just put me on the next flight without a charge? you were giving away free flights anyway..

And to the morons who say that maybe those of us who are obese because we overeat and should think about what we put in our mouths? I bet they couldn't walk 21 miles in two days without keeling over. Bite that, fuckers.
