To clarify, I can see Tower 42 (pretty ugly IMHO) and a modern office block (ok, but characterless) but I can also see a corner turret from a lovely old building.

It's pretty grey today too. Tower 42 looks much better with a nice sunset behind it.

I look out across White City estate from the nearest window; most specifically, I can see the council block from which some of the workers erecting our building were shot at. Ugly, ugly, ugly....

This is not to say that I think London is ugly per se; it's just that the view by which you asked me to judge is.

Outside my window is a circular iceskating rink surrounded by trees decorated in fairy lights - it's very pretty
