The Idiot Box: Did you REALLY want that cigarette?
I'm driving home from the grocery store and i'm waiting for the stop light to change. I see a man, probably in his early to mid 50s, running to beat the cars on the opposite corner that just got a green arrow. I notice he has an unlit cigarette dangling from his lips. Halfway across the street, almost home free and beating the light, said cigarette drops from the lips of the man. Does he leave his precious cancer stick so he can get to safety and his waiting bus or does he stop in the street to pick it up.
Oh yes, he does the silly thing and stops to pick it up, *HONK! SCREECH! SCREAM!* Nearly gets hit by a shiny piece of roaring steel all to pick up his precious cigarette. The silliness of it all just boggled the mind, as I laughed loudly out of my rolled down window.
