Topic #5: Role Models
Who do you look up to more than anybody else? Everybody has a role model - take a few minutes to pay tribute to yours.
There are role models in my life, but there have been many and they have all spoke to me at different times to make me the person I am today. So instead of focusing on just one I want to give a few words to each one to let them know that they did have an impact with what they said even if I didn't acknowledge it at the time.
First of course was my father and mother. They showed me that having money wasn't just about having things it was having the power to bring change and lead by example. I didn't know until a long time after their death that their example helped to shock the other influential citizens of Gotham awake to save our city. But it wasn't a surprise to learn.
Then there's Alfred. Alfred Pennyworth who is now reading this over my shoulder while pretending to dust. Someone who is labelled as a servant but he's been a father to me for many years now. His refusal to give up on me has led me through many dark areas safely.
Alexander...surprised you get a role model metion aren't you? Alexander who helped me learn how to navigate private schools and social occasions. I have always looked up the way he can effortlessly navigate the social moires of any given situation while I tend to rely on the fact people don't think I'm very bright to get by.
Rachel...someday I hope you read this Rachel. Everything you said to me is true and it's been very hard to deal with that. Especially knowing it's the reason you couldn't stay with me. You are my true role model, it didn't take any of the things it did in my life for you to do what was right, you just did it because it was the right thing to do. Someday I hope I'm as fearless as you. Until then, I'll keep doing what I must and hope that it's enough.
