"In here," she called from the kitchen. She appeared in the doorway between the two and smiled at him. "I thought that your table could actually get some use, rather than setting everything on the coffee table."
She walked into the living room and took Harvey's hand, kissing him lightly. When she pulled back, she smiled a bit again.
"That is why I have wine ready," she replied. She knew they had to be understanding. Major trauma was not going to be immediately gone once it was over. Even knowing that, though, didn't make it less frustrating. "I'll see if I can talk her into seeing someone."
"I tried that," he said. "She only wants to see Jonathan Crane. She--" Harvey shook his head, looking troubled. "I tried to explain to her that they were the same person...tried to remind her that he'd sent me fear gas and - that - whatever it was he sent to the office...tried to remind her of what he did to you...She just - refuses - or maybe just can't see it."
He looked off, not realizing he'd given himself away about the fear gas.
"He.. had ten days," Rachel said quietly. "Stockholm Syndrome is named for hostages that were held for five days, and they ended up pooling their money afterward to pay for their captors' defense. A few reports, they conflict, say that one of the hostages later became engaged to one of her captors." She'd done her research. After all, if you didn't know anything, you didn't know what to do. "We have to make her see someone else... Somehow." That was easier said than done, and she knew it.
As she led the way into the kitchen, she glanced back at him. "When did he send you fear gas? Other than at the office, just before she disappeared?"
"I didn't want you to worry - or to think about seeing me - in the state it left me in," he said, despite knowing that she'd experienced the toxin for herself and knew what it was like and what it could do to a person.
"Uh...during the Grayson trial," Harvey said, trying and failing to be nonchalant about it. He sat in front of his own plate, across from her, and took a drink of wine.
She took a second sip of wine, looking at him closely. Then, she got a smile on her face. "This is just, oh, a wild stab in the dark... Would it happen to coincide with the window that got broken on the bottom floor?"
He nodded and focused on his food with a slight frown. She was too accepting. She didn't question him at all - not about having stayed at Nadine's the night of the fear gas incident, not about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
It made Harvey paranoid and more than a bit suspicious. Was she hiding something from him? Something -- having to do with Wayne? Is that why she was so blase about the whole thing?
To Rachel, there was no need for worry. She trusted Harvey, and she trusted Nadine. Or at least Nadine then. Now...? Her only concern would be something putting the idea that she was in danger in Nadine's head and bad things coming from her trying to protect herself.
But, well. She'd want Harvey to trust her if something happened and she had to spend the night at Bruce's penthouse. So. She would trust him.
She smiled at him, taking another drink of her wine as she ate.

"How are you?"

"Harvey." She actually smiled a bit. "These are the kinds of things you should tell me."
