The interwebs have been fixed! \O/

Although....it may have been entirely my fault. *embarrassed*

It looks like I've had the wrong adaptor plugged into the cable modem for the last year, and it waited till now to complain about it. All the guy from Virgin did was change the plug, et viola! my interwebs is back ( Read more... )

Is it wireless-B or wireless-G? if it's wireless-G, switch it out.

It's a Wireless G - the one I have plugged in at the moment is a B, and it still looks like it works okay...

G is more secure and has better range and speed, though. Might as well switch it out.

How was I supposed to remember which plug was for what? *laughs* Everything just got shoved in a box after the flood.

The right plug was actually in the desktop pc's speakers - good thing they haven't been used much, as the adaptor's one watt (or whatever) higher! That's why the modem grumbled, as it wasn't getting quite enough power.
