Today was my youngest nephew Aaron's birthday party, which means a trek into town by bus, then another trek out of town on a totally different bus. Thankfully this time we got on the right bus for the second leg of the journey, so our travel time was greatly shortened, but it still took about an hour ( Read more... )

I think she'll be alright, once the shock wears off and the bruises fade. I hope your mum's doing okay these days too - sounds like things have been tough recently *hugs*

Oh she's very good at the guilt trips, is my Mam.... *sigh*

Hope your mam's okay now. My mother had a similar fall this summer on the steps at my cousin's house, and while she wasn't badly hurt, I don't think she wants to go back there, which is going to make things a bit awkward at holidays.

My mom was the same way about Mike - when we brought him over to see her, she'd get uptight about his behavior, and when she hadn't seen him for a while, she'd start going on about how much she missed him. Sometimes you just can't win.

Aww bless - I know I would be nervous myself, for quite a while.

That's so sad! From what I understand it's not like Mike could help it. *sympathy* Hope he's doing well at his new place!

My cousin has a beautiful house, but the only problem is that to get into it, you have to climb a steep flight of wooden stairs. I don't even like doing that. Plus she lives about an hour away, which isn't very pleasant during bad weather.

I haven't seen Mike much lately - the last time was on Wednesday when they brought him by to pick up his swimming trunks for his swimming lessions at school - but from what they've been telling us, he's been adjusting better than the other boys and is helping cook dinner and clean up afterwards, something we couldn't get him to do for us. :-)
