Post-Who musings

So I was thoroughly entertained by tonight's episode; loved seeing 'John Smith', and it's always interesting when we enter a story halfway through.

I had a feeling from the trailer that Martha would be aware of whatever was going on, and I was glad to be proved right. Nice twist with her having to try and fix the situation without the Doctor's 'retcon trigger', and that instruction video he left her? Very cool.

Plus scarecrows? Have always been scary.

Location-wise (yeah, you knew it was coming) - they used St Fagans Museum of Welsh Life! How cool is that! My Torchwood WiP is set there too! I'm not sure where the school was based; the only place I can think of that looks like that is Bishop of Llandaff, but I could very easily be wrong. There's lots of schools around.

Now, Utopia and how it relates to the Torchwood episode End Of Days...

At the end of End Of Days, Jack is alone in the main Hub when he hears the TARDIS and gives that big trademark grin. The force of the TARDIS's dematerialisation caused paper to fly all over the room.

Then comes the trailer for Utopia, where we see that the TARDIS has landed outside, in the same place it parked in Eccleston's episode Boom Town (known in Torchwood as where the invisible lift is). I doubt that would cause wind deep underground. We see Jack running up Roald Dahl Plass heading for the TARDIS, backpack on his shoulders like he's fully intending to stay a while - when did he have time to grab it, and why didn't he take the lift? And if the TARDIS was blocking the lift, which is possible, how come Tosh, Ianto and Owen didn't run into him when they returned moments later with the coffees? Both Coffee Mania and Starbucks are both right above the entrance to the Tourist Information office.

Having said that, I cannot wait till the episode airs! It should be awesome.
